Story

The sequel to 2008's Star Ocean: First Departure, Star Ocean: Second Evolution is a remake of Star Ocean: The Second Story, which is itself the sequel to the original Star Ocean game released in 1996 for the Super Famicom.
The game takes place in Space Date 366, twenty years after the events of the first game. A Federation officer finds himself on an uncharted planet, where he is dubbed the Hero of Light. After a meteorite crashes to the surface, he sets out to save the planet's inhabitants and fulfill prophecy.Official Site: Star Ocean: Second Evolution
Gameplay

Star Ocean: Second Evolution has been completely overhauled for the PSP. The game features fully voice-acted, animated cutscenes. All the characters have been redesigned and additional Private Actions have been introduced to the game.
Private Actions are side stories centered around a particular character. Special events occur, which allow players to meet new characters and recruit them to the party.
Degree of Feelings is the term used to gauge how the different party members feel about the main character. The choices made by the player during Private Actions sequences affects how the rest of the party reacts to you, how they behave in battle and possibly could change the game's ending.Official Site: Star Ocean: Second Evolution
