This year the Stagecoach Festival will be sponsored by Toyota, ABC Daytime, Soapnet, Sony Playstation and Budweiser. The event will be integrated into ABC Daytime and Soapnet’s "Soap Nation Tour",and actors from All My Children, One Life To Live and General Hospital will be introducing performers onstage, signing autographs for fans, and hosting contests and giveaways. http://stagecoachfestival.com/updates/news
At sundown on each night of Stagecoach, the High Plains Mixer will commence. The High Plains Mixer is sponsored by Global Inheritance, and will feature high profile deejays playing country music and mashups via a most unique power source. As it's explained on the Stagecoach Festival's official site: "Why does a non profit organization like Global Inheritance care about cowboys spinning records? For us, it's less about the music and more about the power source. That's where you come in ... We are offering Stagecoach VIP passes and other cool country inspired gear to individuals powering various devices on the High Plains Mixer stage. You think the mechanical bull is tough, try the Human Hamster Wheel for 30 mins!! Each day at noon, the Cattle Drive will begin over at the High Plain Mixer. Head over and help feed our energy well by riding bikes, bouncing on see saws, turning hand cranks and jogging in hamster wheels..."
Full schedule of performances is now available on the Stagecoach Festival official site. And be sure to check out Mahalo's Stagecoach Events page for more detail on special activities being hosted during the festival!

History of Stagecoach
The Stagecoach Festival made it’s debut in 2007. It takes place annually in the desert of Coachella Valley, and is a sister event of the popular Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. It is produced by Goldenvoice, the same company that produces the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, and is scheduled each year for the weekend following the widely popular alternative music fest. http://www.stubhub.com/stagecoach-country-music-festival-tickets/
A unique feature of this event is a performance roster that includes a mix of traditional country artists alongside contemporary and alternative country performers. In an interview published in USA Today, founder/promoter Paul Tollett spoke of how industry insiders strongly advised him initially against making an attempt to feature modern country and more root-oriented artists in a single festival. "I heard, 'These are different kinds of country. They shouldn't mix ... but no one was doing this in California, and I thought, 'Why not?' " Taking the risk of going ahead with the idea paid off. This eclectic country music festival has shown steady growth, tripling its attendance each year since it's inception. http://www.usatoday.com/life/music/news/2007-05-06-stagecoach_N.htm
Last year, Stagecoach ranked as one of Newsweek magazines "Top Five Summer Music Festivals." The event drew over 100,000 music fans in 2009, and it is expected there will be even more in attendance this year. http://www.newsweek.com/id/194087
