Stacy Peterson is the fourth wife of former Bolingbrook, Illinois police officer Drew Peterson. Peterson, a mother of two, has been missing since October 2007. Drew Peterson was arrested for the 2004 murder of his third wife, Kathleen Savio, on May 7, 2009. Savio's death was originally listed as accidental but her body was later resumed and the cause of death was determined to be murder.
On May 20, 2009, the body of a female was found along the Des Plaines river. Authorities were not able to confirm the identity of the woman immediately. The body was scheduled for an autopsy the next morning. The family of Stacy Peterson was notified by state police.
