St. Patrick's Day Recipes are traditionally made on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, and range from Irish stew to soda bread. Named after St. Patrick, the holiday is based on the day thought to be the death of the Christian Saint. It was first observed in Boston in 1737 by Irish immigrants.
