  • St. Lucia is an island nation situated in the Caribbean. Tourism plays and important role in the economy and development of St. Lucia's ability to thrive. Many of the cruise lines offer the country as a destination stop during their cruises. Some celebrities also own homes in St. Lucia, including Mick Jagger of The Rolling Stones; this fact alone makes Marigot Bay a tourism attraction among itself.
  • Attractions

    Many of the tour operators in St. Lucia offer tours and expeditions around the island to see many of the attractions that St. Lucia has to offer visitors. The Pigeon Island National Landmark is said to contain the most history then any where else on the island. It was once used as a military base, as well as a pirate hideaway.

    Rodney Bay is also another great place to visit on the island. It's only a few minutes from Castries and is surrounded by a "man-made" lagoon and is one of the most happening places one the island as far as nightlife is concerned.

    The Diamond Botanical Gardens is a perfect place to bring the family if they are part of your vacation plans. One of the most popular natural attractions, the Diamond Waterfalls, are located with in the gardens. It's a spectacular sight to see the falls change colors, from yellow, black, green and gray, based on the time of day. The man-made baths around the falls were said to have healing effects because of the minerals in the water.

    Most island activities involve water, sand and sun; St. Lucia is no different. The waters are great for snorkeling, wind surfing and parasailing. Most tour companies supply gear and equipment for these sports and help find the perfect locations.

    If water-sports isn't your thing, then try golf. There are a few resorts, such as the Jalousie Hilton and the St. Lucia Golf Resort & Country Club that offers guest and visitors golfing opportunities. Other land sports that are recommended are beach volleyball, soccer and cricket.
