Sprite is a popular caffeine free clear, lemon-lime soda marketed by the Coca-Cola company. Sprite was first introduced in 1961 to compete against the beverage 7-Up.In the 1990's Sprite started appearing on t.v. and on radio commercials. Sprite also comes in diet form. Sprite is used to mix with alcohol and also in recipes. Some doctor's will tell you that shaking up a sprite and giving it to a sick child or infant, will do the same thing as pedialite.

- Carbonated water
- High fructose corn syrup
- Citric acid
- Natural flavors
- Sodium citrate
- Sodium benzoate
Sprite Pound Cake
- 3 cups sugar
- 3 sticks margarine or butter
- 6 eggs
- 3 cups flour
- 3/4 cups Sprite
- 3 teaspoons lemon flavoring
Begin by mixing and creaming the sugar and the margarine together until smooth then add one egg at a time and beat. After well beaten add the flour and stir. Combine Sprite and lemon flavoring then mix well into batter until smooth. Put in a loaf pan and bake at 325 degrees for one hour or until a cake tester comes out clean.
