The Spotted Eagle Ray, also known as a stingray, is a tropical fish that lives in shallow zones near coral reefs in temperate zones around the world. The spotted ray typically feeds on shellfish and is not regarded as an aggressive animal. On March 18, 2008, a spotted eagle ray killed a 57-year-old Michigan woman named Judy Kay Zagorski when it leapt from the Atlantic Ocean and landed on her boat.
