Splinter Cell Conviction Walkthrough

Splinter Cell Conviction is the fifth game in the line of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell games and was released on the Xbox 360 on April 13, 2010. The game features a dramatic departure from the traditional slow paced stealth gameplay made famous in previous games of the series in favor of a more action oriented approach. This text and HD video walkthrough will help players navigate their way through the game.

Along with the single player campaign, Conviction comes with several multiplayer modes including a full fledged co-op mode featuring a separate story with its own characters and a mode called "Deniable Ops" which pits the characters against themselves and AI enemies in four different game types.

Story

Splinter Cell Conviction once again places players in the shoes of Third Echelon agent Sam Fisher, except this time Fisher is no longer part of Third Echelon. He is now a renegade agent who's only motivation has become to find the person who murdered his daughter. As he dives further into his search for his daughter's killer, he learns of more conspiracies, cover ups, and betrayals as he is thrust back into the position of saving America once again.

Gameplay

Unlike previous Splinter Cell games which focused on sneaking through enemy laden strongholds and using combat mostly as a last resort, Splinter Cell Conviction places a heavy emphasis on combat thanks to Fisher's increased agility, the ability to upgrade weapons, and the new Mark and Execute system.

With Mark and Execute, players can mark a certain number of targets with the press of the right bumper from behind cover or even from behind walls if they have the sonar vision goggles. Once marked, a press of the Y button will execute a string of instant kills where Fisher automatically head shots each of the enemies that are marked and are within range. While enemies can be marked at anytime, you can only execute if you have killed an enemy with a melee or stealth attack.

Due to the Mark and Execute system, players are encouraged to approach each battle intelligently and carefully while still putting an emphasis on engaging the enemies rather than just sneaking by them.

Another large addition to the gameplay in Conviction is the Last Known Position mechanic. Whenever Fisher is spotted and then breaks line of sight, a silhouette will appear where the enemies last saw him. Enemies will continue shooting at Fisher's last known position and will attempt to flank it, allowing the player to skillfully move around the environment and take the enemies by surprise.

Chapter 1 - Merchant's Street Market

  1. When the game begins, Sam will be sitting down in an outdoors cafe when he is contacted by his old colleague, Grim.
  2. Follow the tutorials when prompted to learn how to look around with the Right Stick.
  3. When you gain full control, run straight ahead and turn left towards the waypoint.
  4. Next, follow the directions on screen and take cover by holding LT when next to the marked cover spot.
  5. You can move from cover to cover by aiming at a new cover spot and pressing A.
  6. Move from cover to cover until you reach the last marked cover spot and then wait for Grim to kill the lights.
  7. A flashback will play featuring Sam explaining the advantages of the dark to his daughter. Follow the onscreen prompts and listen to Sam's dialogue with his daughter. It serves as somewhat of a tutorial on darkness.
  8. When the flashback ends, your next objective will be to shoot the two thugs patrolling the area.
  9. While holding LT, simply aim at the thug's head and press RT to shoot.
  10. TIP: Press in the Right Stick to zoom and fine tune your aim a little better.
  11. A third thug will come to check the scene out once you kill the first two. Wait for him to get close and take him out with one shot.
  12. Another flashback will play that will teach you how to use the Mark and Execute system.
  13. Kill the first thug with a hand to hand attack by pressing B.
  14. After getting a hand to hand kill, you can mark the other enemies by aiming at them and pressing RB. Press Y to kill all marked targets within range.
  15. NOTE: You can only execute once per hand to hand kill. Executes don't stack either, so if you perform two hand to hand kills without executing, you'll still only be able to execute once.
  16. Start making your way towards the waypoint up ahead. The next enemy guard will conveniently have his back turned to you. Press LB to go into stealth mode and sneak up behind him. Press B once close to perform a hand to hand kill and gain an execute.
  17. Mark and execute the two enemies up ahead and continue moving towards the waypoint.
  18. When you reach the next group of enemies, take cover and wait for one of them to approach you. When he gets near, take him out with a hand to hand kill.
  19. Next, mark and execute the two nearest enemies. This will alert the two remaining enemies to your location. While still in cover, aim towards the nearest cover spot and press A to stealthily move there.
  20. The enemies should still be firing at your last known position, allowing you to easily get close enough to line up a quick headshot on the nearest enemy.
  21. Your target will run off towards the bathroom. Follow him and you'll be able to interrogate him.
  22. Interrogations are up to you to decide how you want to beat the information out of your target. You can smash this guy into the bathroom stall, slam him into a urinal, crush his face against the mirror, etc.

Chapter 2 - Kobin's Mansion

  1. Head through the door and turn right to start heading towards the mansion.
  2. Instead of going through the front entrance, head through the door on the left.
  3. Use a melee kill to bring down the guard with his back towards you and then mark and execute the two enemies up ahead.
  4. Climb the pipe and press B at the window to pull the guard and throw him off the ledge. Doing this will give you the ability to execute.
  5. Flip the switch next to the door to turn off the lights and then open the door.
  6. Kill the enemy ahead with a stealth kill and then mark the chandelier. Yes, you can mark overhead objects as well. Hit Y to execute to cause the chandelier to fall and take out three guards at once.
  7. Doing this will make the other guards a little jumpy, so be careful as you head into the next room to your left.
  8. Hop out the window and shimmy across to the other side so the guards don't spot you. Jump back in, stealth kill the first enemy, and shoot down the second.
  9. Head back into the main lobby and sneak over to the light switch. Turn it off to cause the guard to come check it out. When he gets close, stealth kill him.
  10. Continue through the glass doors and run over to the weapon stash. Here you'll be able to change your equipped weapons as well purchase upgrades.
  11. I'd personally recommend sticking to the silenced pistols and upgrading the number of enemies you're able to mark, but you should upgrade whatever weapons fit your playstyle the best.
  12. Continue into the next room and shoot out the lights to give yourself some darkness to hide in.
  13. Climb the pipe at the end of the hall. Position yourself over the lone enemy on the landing of the stairs and mark as many nearby enemies as you're able to. Press LT to perform a death from above attack, then quickly press Y to execute the enemies you marked.
  14. Head up the other set of stairs and get a stealth kill on this lone guard to earn another execute.
  15. When you have the execute, mark the hanging object and however many other enemies you're able to before hitting Y.
  16. Mark the remaining enemies and hang over the railing. Try to land another death from above attack and then take out the remaining guards with a mark and execute.
  17. Continue heading towards the waypoint and follow the stairs down.
  18. The lights will get cut and a movie will start to play on the wall as you get close to the next area. Quickly get into some cover before the enemies appear.
  1. Wait for the guy in the center to get close so you can get him with a stealth kill.
  2. Get back into cover and try to take out another guard without having to use your execute.
  3. When the area is clear, work your way towards the door on the right side. Peek under it to check to see if there's any enemies on the other side before going in.
  4. Shoot the lights to create some shadows if you need them and work your way towards the check point.
  5. Remember that you don't have to kill all of the enemies in a room. If they go by you, just ignore them and keep going forward.
  6. There will be another weapon stash in the next room with the stairs. Change your load out if you want and then continue up the stairs.
  7. Head through the door and continue outside to reach a pipe. Climb up and pull the guard out of the window.
  8. Mark and execute the two guards patrolling the stairs and then head on up.
  9. Head over to the large double doors and peek under. You'll see that they're ready for you to come in through the front. Mark as many enemies as you can from here so you can know their positions.
  10. Turn right and jump out the window so you can shimmy over to the room where all the enemies you marked were.
  11. Throw the enemy near the window out and then continue shimmying to the right.
  12. Wait for the guards to invesitigate what's behind the door, and then jump in through the window furthest away from the door. Take out as many enemies as you can from this location, but get ready to jump out when you get spotted.
  13. Use this hit and run strategy to thin out the number of guards, leaving just you and Kobin for an interrogation.
  14. Once the interrogation ends, Third Echelon will burst in and take you prisoner.

Chapter 3 - Price Airfield

  1. After the interrogation of Grim, head forward until you see the first enemy. Get behind cover and hide in the darkness until he turns around.
  2. Once his back is facing you, stealth kill him to gain an execute.
  3. TIP: The game will tell you that you can hold B to use the guard as a human shield. You can do that too, but it's not particularly useful in this particular area of the game.
  4. Mark and execute the two guards up ahead and then grab the C4 off the table.
  5. Head up the stairs and peek under the door to see an enemy standing right next to it. If you want, you can bust the door down by pressing B, or you can just open it normally and take him out with a regular stealth kill.
  6. If you do bust the door down, the other guards will come running, so hop over the railing and climb along the ledge to reach the open window to the right.
  7. Enter through the window and then utilize the shadows along with the pipe on the ceiling to take out the remaining guards in this room.
  8. TIP: Remember not to give away your position by shooting recklessly while on the pipe. Pick off isolated enemies or take out a group all at once with Mark and Execute.
  9. Once the building is clear, follow the waypoint and plant the C4 on the helicopter.
  10. Head through the next door and continue to the outside.
  11. Upgrade your weapons at the weapon stash and continue forward, but stay behind the boxes to avoid being seen as you move towards the building.
  12. Hop through the window and peek past the wall to see two enemies talking to each other.
  13. Mark both enemies and then shoot the light out. When one of them comes to investigate, sneak up behind them and use a hand to hand kill. If the other guard sees you, immediately press Y to execute him before he alerts the other guard.
  14. Sneak out through the window opposite of where you entered and carefully make your way over to the next building.
  15. Open the window before hopping through so you don't alert any guards.
  16. If the area is clear, hop through the next window and you'll be on the other side of the base. Your destination is straight ahead.
  17. Pick off any guards standing in between you and the next waypoint and then dash towards it.
  18. When you reach the relay barracks, stay crouched as you sneak over towards the non-barred window.
  19. Open it and then jump in when the guards aren't looking at you.
  20. Pick them off one by one and then flip the switch to kill the power.
  21. Guards will storm the room, so make sure you have a place to take cover and be ready for them.
  22. Once the coast is clear, head outside through the same window you entered and turn right. Head through the door and proceed to the next area.
  23. When you're done talking with Grim, use the weapon stash to upgrade your weapons.
  1. Next, hug the wall and lean over to the entrance of the hangar. Take out the guard if he's there, and then head inside when its clear.
  2. You can use the pipe here to get a nice look at the positions of the enemies. Start taking them out one by one and clearing a path to the next waypoint.
  3. TIP: If you need a distraction, you can shoot the crate being held up by the crane to cause it to crash down.
  4. Once you reach the satellite dish, plant the C4 to complete your objective.
  5. An alarm will start blaring after you plant the C4. Quickly run into the hangar and take cover behind one of the crates.
  6. If you have a execute command saved up, now would be a good time to use it. Take out as many enemies as you can in one go.
  7. Next, start shooting out the lights in the hangar to give yourself some darkness.
  8. You don't need to fight all the guards here. If they start to flank you, throw an EMP grenade towards them and then make a mad dash towards the waypoint. Once you trigger the next conversation with Grim, you won't have to worry about them anymore.
  9. Take cover behind the white barrels in the next area and then cover move to the white barriers.
  10. Once again, if you have an execute saved up, this would be a good time to use it to take out as many guards as you can.
  11. There's not a lot of room to run from cover to cover here, so just rely on your gadgets to take out the guards here.
  12. When the area is clear, kick down the door to the security office, quickly shoot down the guard waiting for you on the other side, and then activate the computer to disrupt the security.
  13. Head through the window, open the door, and proceed through to complete the chapter.

Chapter 4 - Diwaniya, Iraq

  1. You'll notice that in this chapter stealth won't get you very far. You're equipped with a very powerful assault rifle that can take down enemies from long range, so make use of it.
  2. Head forward and take cover once you see the first two guards up ahead. Zoom by pressing in the right stick and take out the two guards as quickly as you can.
  3. Continue forward, past the truck, and then take cover behind one of the cars.
  4. Fight your way forward as you move from cover to cover, taking out enemies that try to flank you. Use your grenades when you can, but remember to aim the crosshair at where you want the grenade to go.
  5. TIP: The Last Know Position mechanic is very useful in this area of the game. Use it to alert the enemies to your presence, and then cover move to a new area where you can get an easier shot on them.
  6. Keep on pushing forward while staying in cover when enemies approach. Remember that your gun is pretty powerful, so headshots are not absolutely necessary like they are with the pistol. Rather than trying to line up that perfect headshot, just hit them with a burst to the chest.
  7. Once the road narrows out and you see a large white truck on the left, you'll start getting close to the city.
  8. Head past the cars and take cover behind one of the giant stone blocks.
  9. Open fire on the enemy soldiers and use your frag grenades to take them out if they bunch together.
  10. Remember again that you don't have to kill all the enemies. If they're focused on a position and you've already gotten behind them, don't give yourself away by shooting and just head towards the next waypoint.
  11. In the next area you'll have to deal with enemies inside buildings. Take cover one of the stone blocks, place your crosshair on the barrel of fire, and lob a grenade inside the building.
  12. Keep an eye out for enemies coming from the building to the right, and the building in front of you. When it's safe to move, head towards the building to the right.
  13. Work your way through the broken down buildings, checking before you turn every corner, and you'll eventually reach the gates to the school.
  1. Head inside and sneak around the desks. Keep your head down so you don't attract the attention of the guards on the other side of the room until you're close enough to get an easy shot on them.
  2. Once you take out the four guards in the first room, hug the wall next to the door to the classroom and take out the guard waiting for you to come in.
  3. Quickly roll into cover as you go inside the room and be ready for two more soldiers to start shooting at you.
  4. Head through the blue door and continue into the next classroom where a video will be playing on the wall.
  5. Continue through the door to reach outside, then head towards the next building.
  6. Press B to burst through the door and shoot down the two guys torturing Sam.
  7. Once you rescue Sam, you'll be placed in one final firefight against waves of enemies as you try to hold your position. Stay in cover, intelligently use your grenades, utilize the explosive barrels, and keep your aim sharp and you should live through it to complete the chapter.

Chapter 5 - Washington Monument

  1. The first half of this chapter is all about stalking three targets and interrogating them once they head into a dark area.
  2. Just stay behind each of the marked targets and then run up to them once they each reach their specific dark area. One of them will head into a dark area by the snack bar, another will stand next to vending machines near the food stands, and the last one goes to the area with the portapotties.
  3. Once you've interrogated all three targets, follow the waypoint to meet up with Coste at the base of the Washington Monument.
  1. After your conversation with Coste you'll receive the portable EMP backpack. Equip it and press X to trigger a short range EMP that will temporarily stun enemies and short out electronics.
  2. Time to put your new gadget to use. Head out of the monument and follow the crowd of people back towards the fair.
  3. Take cover at the just before the entrance to the fair. Hopefully one of your weapons can mark up to three enemies at once. Mark the three farthest guards, then press X to activate the EMP.
  4. Quickly run up and melee kill the closest guard, then press Y to execute the three you marked.
  5. Head right and follow the path around until you reach a dead end. Hop into the stall to the left and walk in the crawlspace underneath.
  6. Mark three more guards and grab the guard with his back towards you to gain an execute. If this alerts the other guards, execute the marked targets and then escape through the crawlspace.
  7. Otherwise, make use of your shadows and pick off whatever guards you can.
  8. Once the area is clear, start making your way towards the next waypoint.
  9. When you see the red car blocking your path towards the pirate ship, make a left into the darkened area and melee kill the guard up ahead.
  10. Enemies will be waiting for you around the corner, so instead of going in through the front, head back into the darkened area and look for another crawlspace. When you appear on the other side, you'll be able to mark the three guards and take them all out in one execute command.
  11. Another guard will be patrolling around the carnival games, but you should be able to take him out fairly easily since he doesn't have anymore back up.
  12. Continue heading forward, but sneak into the darkened area near the ferris wheel and follow the fences.
  13. When you reach the end, you'll see a group of guards crowded around an explosive tank. Shoot the tank and then pick off any potential survivors.
  14. You've got one more shootout on the way to the waypoint. Equip your main weapon and just treat this section as though it was the previous Iraq chapter. Use grenades, remote mines, and whatever other gadgets you think will help you clear a path towards the exit.

Chapter 6 - White Box Laboratories

  1. Start things off by upgrading your weapons at the weapons cache. I'd recommend taking the upgraded Five-Seven, since it allows you to mark up to four targets at once. It'll be a great help during this chapter when you have to take on a large amount of foes at once.
  2. When you're ready, start making your way towards the guard booth while staying in the shadows.
  3. Once you take out the guard, you're in the clear until you get inside the building.
  4. Head towards the right side of the building and look for a stack of pipes that you can climb on to.
  5. Climb up to the lowest roof and then continue forward.
  6. Jump on to the air vents and jump up to the next roof.
  7. Jump up to the top of the cage with the caution sign and then start climbing up the nearby pipe.
  8. Follow the pipe and you'll eventually reach the top area where you'll see a bunch of fans.
  9. Climb up the yellow pipe near the fans and then follow the path from pipe to pipe until you're inside the building.
  10. Follow the linear path until you reach stairs leading down. Head towards the pipe on the wall and press A when prompted to grab hold of the overhead pipe. Use the pipe to slide down to the floor below.
  11. Drop down and follow the catwalks all the way to the bottom level where you'll see a door.
  12. Instead of heading through the door, climb the pipe to the left and use it to get an overhead view of the enemies inside the next room. Since you should have an execute saved from killing the first guard, execute all three guards.
  13. Drop down and activate the computer monitor to check the surveillance cameras.
  14. Cycle through the cameras until you get a shot of the guards confronting the scientists.
  15. After the scene plays out, head through the door on the left.
  1. Follow the path and then jump out the window to land on the ground below.
  2. Several guards will be patrolling the area, so stay in cover and try to take them out quietly.
  3. Note that you can climb on to the cage on the left side of the room. Use this to escape if you were spotted, or to ambush enemies from a higher vantage point.
  4. TIP: One course of action you might want to take is intentionally get spotted, place a remote mine near the spot where your last know position silhouette appears, then cover move to the left side and climb on top of the cage. When enemies get close to the mine, press X to detonate it.
  5. Once you clear the area of enemies, head over to the cowering scientist and talk to him.
  6. Proceed into the elevator and take it down to the next floor.
  7. The floor you arrive at will already be cleaned out by the enemies. Ignore the dying scientists and head over to the weapon stash at the left side of the room.
  8. Sneak over to the double doors and peek under to get an idea of the opposition you'll be facing.
  9. This part is a bit tricky since there are five guards in this room, but what I like to do is mark the four enemies while they're holding the scientists at gun point. When the two closest to you start walking away, use your portable EMP and then open the door.
  10. Quickly run to the right to get a human shield from the guard in the hallway, then turn around and execute the remaining four marked guards.
  11. With the area clear, continue down the hallway and keep going straight until you see a staircase.
  12. Before you head up the stairs, flip the light switch to turn off the lights, and then hop over the railing just behind it to wait for a guard to check it out.
  13. Kill the guard with a melee kill to gain an execute command. Before you head up the stairs, I'd recommend using another portable EMP to kill the lights and stun the enemies so you're not out in the open as you're climbing up. Before the EMP wears off, find a hiding spot either through a window or behind a piece of cover.
  14. While in cover, use your execute command to take down as many enemies as you can see.
  15. Once you clear the floor, do the same thing for the staircase. Use a portable EMP, run up the stairs, and get into a hiding spot before the EMP wears off. From there use your stealth skills and/or gadgets to pick apart the enemies.
  16. When the enemies are all dead, follow the waypoint into the next room where you'll find a weapon stash.
  1. After the conversation with Grim and your daughter, peek under the next door and head insider when it's clear of guards.
  2. You should be able to get to the first guard without anyone noticing. Use a melee kill on him to gain an execute.
  3. There should be four more guards in the room on the other side. If you get spotted while trying to take them out, note that there is a light switch and a window to your left. Use them to play mind games on the guards.
  4. Head through the red door and continue across the platform to the pipe.
  5. Climb the pipe and follow it to the next area.
  6. Jump on to the top of the caged room and wait for a guard to pass by. Drop down and take him out once he's close.
  7. There will be two more guards in the immediate area if you don't alert any more. Take them out either with your execute that you earned or a gadget.
  8. Continue around the corner and be ready to engage several more enemies in the area. If you get spotted, you can dash out the window along the wall to the right.
  9. When you're ready to move on, head to the other side of the room and peak through the bottom of the double doors. Enemies will be waiting for you on the other side, so start marking them now.
  10. Hop out the window to the right and shimmy along the edge to get behind the group of enemies. If you have an execute, use it now. Otherwise, you can be creative with your sticky camera and lure them over to one spot to blow them up, or just use a frag grenade or two to thin out their numbers.
  11. Head through the next red door and follow the path to the rafters where you'll see a pipe leading down into the room below.
  12. This next section will have you protecting the computer while waves of enemies try to disconnect your link. Use the layout of the room to your advantage. There are plenty of windows, pipes, and cover spots for you to use that make hit and run a very viable strategy.
  1. You should also make good use of your gadgets. Frag grenades and remote mines work particularly well here.
  2. When you finish off the final wave, finish your conversation with Grim and then locate the stairs. Take the stairs down, then take the pipe down, then jump over the railings until you reach the bottom level.
  3. Your final task for this level is to detonate the EMP. Getting to it though, won't be that easy.
  4. As soon as you enter, enemies will start to investigate your location. You can use this to your advantage if you have anymore remote mines left.
  5. Use your gadgets as distractions and stunning devices to clear the first group of enemies, then push forward and take cover at one of the boxes up ahead.
  6. TIP: Use the explosive canisters either as a distraction and/or a method of clearing out a group of nearby enemies.
  7. Once you've cleared the two waves of enemies, run over to the waypoint and activate the EMP.
  8. All that's left is to escape from the building. Enemies will try to block your escape, so use cover as you make your way towards the exit. Once you're outside the building and have taken care of the enemies, you're home free.

Chapter 7 - Lincoln Memorial

  1. Once you finish talking with the president, follow the super imposed text and the waypoint over to the camera control room.
  2. Press A to hack the controls, then switch to camera 3 and wait for Reed and his contact to start talking.
  3. Always keep the box on both parties to record what they're saying.
  4. Once they move behind the pillar, switch to camera 1 and keep the camera on them.
  5. When they move out of range again, switch to camera 2.
  6. They'll move out of range one more time, forcing you to switch back to camera 1.
  7. Once they finish their conversation, Grim will try to stall Lucius so that you can get to him. Quickly exit the camera room and start running towards him.
  8. Once you get your hands on him, start the interrogation. There are plenty of fun things to slam Lucius into here.
  9. Before you can finish the interrogation, Lucius will be shot by an assassin posed as a police officer.
  10. When you regain control, you'll have to chase after him.
  1. The chase sequence is pretty straightforward. The only thing you have to watch out for is when the actual cops stand in your way. When you're faced with a group of cops, take cover and start cover moving your way towards an exit so you can continue chasing after the culprit.
  2. When you finally catch up to him at his car, he'll be blown up by a car bomb, group of Third Echelon agents.
  3. Take cover at the planter closest to the road and wait for one of the agents to come check the scene out. When he gets close, melee kill him.
  4. There's only one more guard in this first wave, so find a way to sneak up on him. Don't use your execute just yet.
  5. A second wave will arrive shortly after, so try to find a place to hide. You can get to the second level of the building to the right easily by climbing the pipe along the backside.
  6. Move from window to window on the second floor and you should be able to get an overhead view of at least two of the enemies.
  7. There are three enemies in this wave. If you can mark and execute the first two and then melee kill the third one, you should be in good shape for the third and final wave.
  8. For the third wave, return to your hiding spot and repeat what you did in the second wave.
  9. Once you kill three guards or so, your ride will appear on the bridge next to the cafe. Make a dash for the car and you'll complete the chapter.

Chapter 8 - Third Echelon HQ

  1. The first section of this chapter is a little tricky since if any of the guards spot a dead body, they'll sound the alarm and you'll fail the mission. So try to keep combat in open spaces to a minimum.
  2. When the chapter starts, head to the trunk of the car to find a weapon stash.
  3. Once you're stocked up on the weapons you want to use, proceed along the left wall so that you don't get spotted by security cameras.
  4. When you reach the end, turn right and jump up to the top of the building in front of you. Follow the roof to a hole in the security room.
  5. Pop both security guards with head shots and then jump down.
  6. Open the door and hop over the railing just past the ramp on the right. Drop down and start heading towards the door on the right side. Remember, don't kill any guards out in the open. Sneak around them instead.
  7. Drop down and place the first C4 on the generator.
  8. Return to the same door you came in through. If there's a guard right in front of the door, use him as a human shield, bring him into the generator room and then throw him.
  9. Shoot out the light nearest to you on the right side for some extra darkness and to distract the nearby guard.
  10. When you have an opening, run towards the railing up ahead and drop down to the first floor.
  11. Stick with the shadows as you move past the elevator and behind one of the cars.
  12. Jump up and grab the railing once again and pull yourself back up to the second floor.
  13. Head into the shadowy area that connects the second and third floor and wait for the guard up ahead to face away from the door to the right.
  14. TIP: If the guard needs a distraction, either shoot out one of the lights near him or use a sticky camera.
  15. Enter the door and place the next C4.
  16. Jump up into the vents and then drop down once so that you're still hanging on to an edge.
  17. Shimmy to the right over to a car and press B to activate the car alarm if you need a distraction. Quickly hop over the railing again and continue moving right. When the guard on this floor comes to check out the car, run straight for the railing up ahead, jump over it, and drop down to the first floor.
  18. Head inside the elevator and press the button to go down into Third Echelon.
  1. Walk up to the desk and have a talk with the receptionist before blowing up the C4.
  2. Obviously, this will put the facility on alert, so quickly run towards the closing security doors to the left of the reception desk.
  3. Be careful for guards that come rushing out. If you need to take some time to grab cover, do so, but be quick about dealing with the enemies so you can get under the doors before they close.
  4. Once the colors return to their normal blueness, head down the stairs and take cover once you reach the corner with the red wall.
  5. Follow the guard into the room once he opens the door and take him out to gain an execute command.
  6. TIP: A good way to make a distraction to get the other guards to come running is to use the guard as a human shield and then throw him through the door.
  7. You can use the cubicles as cover and use the rafters in the office area as a hiding spot. Whatever you do, clear the area of enemies and then proceed towards the next waypoint.
  8. When you see the words "Server Room" super imposed on the windows, you're about to enter another similarly laid out area, except this time with security cameras. Try shooting the cameras to cause a nearby guard to investigate, allowing you to easily sneak up on him from behind.
  9. Continue going around the offices until you reach the server office. Note that the door leading to the server room has a camera right above it. Shoot it before continuing.
  10. Once you reach the server room you'll find a man named Fryman. He'll give your sonar goggles, which will let you see and mark enemies through walls.
  11. Press Up on the D-Pad to turn on your goggles and see a group of enemies rushing into the room outside.
  12. There will be four enemies in the room for you to take out. Start things off by marking them all while in sonar mode so you can always see where they are.
  13. NOTE: Moving around with the sonar goggles on will greatly hamper your vision. Only use them when in cover or moving short distances.
  1. You should be able to take the lone guard standing near the exit with a single head shot since he doesn't move much. With him out of the way, all you have to worry about are the three guards patrolling the corridors.
  2. Once you clear the area, head out through the same door you entered through and follow the path around once again.
  3. Stop before you round the second corner and turn on your goggles. More enemies will be waiting for you on the other side. Take them out the same way you did last time, except it should be easier now that you have your sonar goggles.
  4. Continue following the path until you reach another corridor with doors along the right side. More enemies will charge towards you and then take up positions behind cover.
  5. Instead of directly engaging them, try to sneak around them by moving from cover to cover.
  6. When you kill the three guards that were waiting for you, turn on your sonar goggles and locate the fourth guard that is patrolling somewhere in the back. Take him out and then climb the stairs.
  1. Before proceeding any further, turn on your sonar goggles. You're going to have to get through the next room without touching any of the lasers.
  2. Move slowly and intelligently as you navigate through the room. The toughest section is the part where the lasers disappear and reappear. Try your best to position yourself between the lasers while waiting for the next one to disappear.
  3. Once you reach the end, hop over the gate and continue to the waypoint where you'll confront Kobin.
  4. After the interrogation, use the weapon stash as you see fit and then get ready for Splinter Cell agents to storm the room.
  5. You'd be best suited to just equip your secondary weapon, take cover, and just open fire when they get close. They can locate with you with their goggles just as you can locate them.
  6. Once you've taken care of the Splinter Cells, check your weapons at the stash and then get ready for four more guards to come into the room.
  7. Take care of the guards and then head through the door they just opened, but don't go into the hallway yet. It's another laser room.
  8. Turn on your Sonar Goggles and head through the door to your left. Navigate through the lasers by hopping over the couches when the lasers pass by.
  9. Once you reach the end, jump on to the top of the door frame and hop over when the laser passes.
  10. Continue through the last laser room and exit through the door on the right.
  11. Proceed to the next large area and you'll be met with a fairly large amount of resistance. Try and get a melee kill on the first guard you see up ahead so you can get an execute. From there, mark as many enemies as you can and execute them.
  12. Eventually you'll work your way to the top floor where you'll be ambushed by another group of Splinter Cell agents. Equip your secondary weapon and fire away once they get close. Be careful that no one sneaks up behind you by running up the stairs.
  13. Once you've taken care of the agents, it's a clear run to Grim's office and a revealing cutscene about what really happened to Sarah.
  1. When the cutscene ends, it's a mad dash from waypoint to waypoint, as Sam will automatically mark targets and will have unlimited executes. Just run and press Y whenever a target is marked.
  2. Once you reach the elevator, you'll complete this long chapter.

Chapter 9 - Michigan Ave. Resevoir

  1. Check the weapon stash at the beginning of the level and upgrade whatever you need to.
  2. Head forward towards the gate and use the giant stones as cover.
  3. The guy near the tree is the target you need to interrogate, so you can't kill him.
  4. Try to mark four enemies other than the closest one to you. This way, you can take the closest enemy as a human shield, execute the other four, and then take cover since your human shield will likely go down.
  5. Take down the remaining guard from a distance and then make your way over to the truck. You'll need to get melee attack on the target to start the interrogation.
  6. Finish the interrogation and head to the left side of the building.
  7. Climb the pipe and enter through the window.
  8. Use the pipe once again and get an overhead view of the layout. From here you can easily mark up to four enemies and take them out with the execute you earned from the interrogation.
  9. Four more enemies will be waiting for you on the other side of the room. You can use either a frag grenade to take them out, a remote mine, or mark three of them, drop down on the fourth, and then just immediately execute them.
  10. When the area is clear, head through the doorway and hop up to the pipe above.
  11. Follow it down into an tunnel and continue forward until you see a scene playing out to the left.
  12. Watch the scene with the scientist and then continue down the tunnel.
  1. Climb the pipe once you exit the tunnel and use it to get to the top floor.
  2. There are three enemies bunched up together on the bottom floor. Throw a remote mine right between them and blow it up to take them all out with one shot.
  3. From there the battle will be on. If you get spotted while trying to take the next group of guys that start flooding the room, make your escape through the small crawl space to the right of the pipe on the wall (with your front facing the pipe).
  4. Use your sonar goggles to make sure that the area is clear before proceed into the next area.
  5. When you're sure it's clear, continue onward up the stairs and you'll see the scientist you need to rescue being held hostage by a group of four guards.
  6. Standard stuff here. Mark the three guards closest to the scientists, use a Death From Above technique on the guard farthest away, and then immediately press Y to execute when you're able to.
  7. Talk to the scientist once it's clear.
  8. Continue through the pipe and check the weapon stash at the base of the steps.
  9. Head up the stairs and follow the path to the ladder to move on to the next part of this chapter.
  1. Jump up the wall ahead and pull the guard down to gain an execute.
  2. There are tons of enemies outside, so stay in the house and try to mark as many enemies as you can for an execute.
  3. TIP: Another option you might want to try to get rid of a group of enemies without using an execute is shooting the explosive barrel across from the doorway.
  4. Once you thin out the number of guards significantly, you can step outside and find cover to get rid of the remainders.
  5. A guard manning a turret will be inside the tunnel, so before you go in, make sure you flush the guard out with a grenade, remote mine, or sticky camera explosion.
  6. When the tunnel is safe, head inside and drop down to the bottom level.
  7. Follow the path to the next ladder and jump up.
  8. Wait for the guard to get close and then pull him over.
  9. Jump over the rail and then take cover at a nearby cover point.
  10. A strategy that worked well for me in this part of the chapter involves shooting the explosive in the middle to take out the first guard.
  11. Then, quickly place a remote mine at the location where the explosion happened.
  12. When they crowd around the area, detonate the mine, and then mark and execute the remaining guards.
  13. Tag the first generator when the enemies are all dead.
  14. Continue forward and you'll be blasted by an EMP and ambushed by a group of guards. Take cover and start marking targets.
  15. When the first guard approaches, grab him and execute the marked guards. Run away from your last known position and wait for the next group of guards to come to their aid.
  16. When you've stopped the ambush, head into the tunnel to the right and refill your ammo and gadgets at the weapon stash.
  17. In the next area, go into sneak mode as you get close to the doorway so you don't alert the guards on the other side.
  18. Throw a grenade inside the doorway to get the three guards inside all at once.
  19. Wait at the doorway, still in cover, and start marking the enemies as they come close. When one enters, use them as a human shield and execute the others.
  20. Continue this game of baiting the enemies towards the doorway and then killing them when they investigate until you substantially bring down the number of guards in the room. If your position is given away, simply move to the other doorway down the hall.
  21. Use your sonar goggles to check if other enemies are nearby and work your way towards the next waypoint.
  1. You'll have to deal with a helicopter as well as waves of enemies for the rest of the level, so make sure you're in cover whenever you hear the machine gun whirring.
  2. Head forward and grab cover at the white Gamma box or one of the stone slabs.
  3. Wait for the enemies to come to you and quickly pop the closest guy with a head shot.
  4. If you can manage it, try to get a headshot on the other guy to the left. Other wise just throw a grenade at him.
  5. Once the two enemies are down, wait for a break in the helicopter's machine gun fire and then run towards the large structure in the middle. Get inside and take cover.
  6. Quickly throw a grenade at the door up ahead to get as many enemies as you can in the explosion as they come out of the doorway.
  7. Clean up the remaining enemies and then make a dash for the building up ahead.
  8. Jump out the window and take cover at one of the boxes up ahead.
  9. From here on out, it's all about your gadgets and your secondary weapon. Stealth is thrown at the window due to the fact that the helicopter will always know your location. Use whatever frags, remote mines, and portable EMPs you have to blow up, distract, and stun the enemies standing in the way of the second generator.
  10. Once you tag the second generator, Coste will come in with air support and you'll complete the chapter.

Chapter 10 - Downtown District

  1. Start off by running past the wreckage and heading up the steps to the top of the theater. Take cover by the door.
  2. There are three entrances to the room up ahead. The middle entrance and the two side entrances. Start off by throwing a frag grenade right in the middle of the group.
  3. From there, head through one of the side entrances and try to bait an enemy to come towards you so you can grab him and gain an execute to eliminate the rest.
  4. Follow the waypoint outside and start running down the street.
  5. Continue heading towards the waypoint and you'll eventually start moving slowly as you walk past all the destruction caused by the EMP blast.
  1. Head into the alley way and climb the pipe. Shimmy until you're above the enemy and press LT to use Death From Above on him.
  2. Get back on the pipe and follow it all the way to the end to wind up on a veranda overlooking the streets.
  3. Mark as many enemies as you can and execute them all at once.
  4. Finish the rest of the enemies off and the continue down the street to find a weapon stash.
  5. Refill your ammo and gadgets at the stash and then continue down the right side of the street.
  6. Hop up the ladder on the right and crouch walk around to the end. Wait for a guard to walk under the platform you're standing on and drop down onto him with a Death From Above.
  7. Quickly run and jump into the nearby hole in the ground and use this as a safe haven to take out the remaining guards. Fire at a guard, drop down, pop up at another location, shoot another guard, drop down, etc.
  8. Once you kill all the enemies in this area, follow the waypoint to trigger another cutscene.
  1. Once you regain control, head forward and make a right to follow the side of the buildings down until you see the first patrolling guard.
  2. Melee kill the first guard to gain your execute command.
  3. Next, use a remote mine to blow up the tanker truck and send the enemies into a panic.
  4. Try not to get spotted as you move from cover to cover, inching closer to the gate. Take out any enemy guards that get close. Note that it may take two headshots to kill the guards with masks.
  5. Once you get through the gates, try to get to the building on the right side. You can jump on top of the roof and get a nice overhead look at the patrolling enemies.
  6. Try to mark four targets and execute them all at once while standing on the roof.
  7. When a path is clear, head through the next gate and take cover by the truck or one of the planters. Use grenades and your secondary weapon to take the incoming enemies out easily.
  8. Continue heading forward and take cover at the sandbags to wait for more incoming enemies.
  9. Once again, you can use your frag grenades and remote mines to easily take out the groups of enemies. Should you get spotted, you have plenty of pieces of cover to move to and out maneuver your enemies.
  10. You have one more wave of enemies to bypass on the way to the garden door to get into the white house. Use whatever gadgets you have left to deal with the final group of guards.
  11. Once you get to the garden doors, you'll complete the chapter.

Chapter 11 - The White House

  1. Start off by heading down the hallway but pausing at the arch.
  2. Two guards will be conversing in the next room. Try to shoot one and melee kill the other so you can get an execute.
  3. Continue to the next room and upgrade your weapons at the weapon stash.
  4. When you're ready, continue up the stairs and take cover at the doorway up ahead.
  5. Cover move to the podium and then continue moving from cover to cover until you get close to the windows on the other side of the room. The windows will be invaluable escape devices for this room.
  6. Kill the guards near the windows, then leap out and shimmy across to the windows for the room next door.
  7. Use a grenade or remote mine to take out the groups of enemies guarding the various doors and then keep going back and forth between the two rooms while hanging on the side of the building to clear out the remaining guards.
  8. Once the area is clear, continue following the waypoint until you reach the room where the Vice President is.
  9. Use your sonar goggles to get a feel of where everyone is and shoot the chandelliers to clear out some enemies standing under them. You can also simply use them as a distraction.
  10. Head towards the vice president and interrogate him when the room is clear.
  11. Once you disable the VP, get some cover and be ready for the room to be stormed by guards.
  12. It would be appropriate just to take out your secondary weapon and simply unload on the guards as they run through the door. Don't give them the time to spread out and flank you.
  13. Splinter Cell agents will join the fun too, so forget about any notion of stealth.
  14. As you head into the hallway up ahead, more Splinter Cells will ambush you after throwing a smoke bomb.
  15. Use your sonar goggles to mark their locations through the smoke and then take them down with your secondary weapon.
  16. Fight your way to the next waypoint and you'll trigger another cutscene.
  1. Proceed through the halls, but bypass the stairs in favor of the elevator shaft. Drop down and sneak up on the guard with his back towards you. Take him as a human shield and then walk around the side of the room ahead.
  2. Use your sonar goggles to locate all of the enemies waiting for you in the kitchen and take down as many of them as you can with an execute.
  3. If they spot you, run away from your last known location and enter the kitchen through one of the other doors.
  4. From there you should be able to take the remaining enemies out.
  5. Head through the kitchen and continue through the door on the right.
  6. Use the weapon stash to refill ammo and gadgets and then sneak through the door, immediately taking cover at the first spot you see.
  7. At the other end of the room is a turret that will open fire as soon as it sees you.
  8. Utilize your cover move to get from cover to cover as you try to get into the door on the left side.
  9. As you head into the next room, you'll trigger an EMP trap and you'll be ambushed by splinter cells.
  10. Take the first one that rushes you as a human shield and use him to protect yourself against the other agents. Use your sonar goggles to mark the remaining enemies before they actually appear before you.
  11. Before you head out the door into the hallway, make sure you're sneaking and can get into cover. The turret is still waiting to tear you apart.
  12. Once you're in a position to see the turret, throw a frag grenade behind it to kill the guard manning the controls.
  13. Continue past the turret and keep on following the waypoint until you reach a hallway where you'll once again trigger an EMP trap and Splinter Cell ambush. You should be used to these by now and should be able to handle it no problem.
  14. Just remember to equip your secondary weapon and stay in cover.
  15. Once you fend off the ambush, continue into the next area and get ready for yet another ambush.
  16. You're nearing the final section of the game so it's time to go for broke and forget conserving your gadgets. Use everything at your disposal to get past the enemies.
  17. Continue down the next hallway and you'll eventually hear gunfire erupting between secret service and Reed's men.
  18. Head to the door farthest away from the waypoint and lob a grenade inside to take out a group of enemies unaware of your presence.
  19. To create a distraction, you can also kick the closed door down by going up to it and pressing B. Doing so will draw the attention of a guard to the door, allowing you an easy melee kill by sneaking up behind him.
  20. All that's left now is a simple run towards the final waypoint and you'll have completed Splinter Cell Conviction! Enjoy the ending!
