Splatterhouse is a brutal 3D single-player action game developed and published by Namco Bandai Games. Originally released in 1988 under the same title it is now being re-imagined with a newly written storyline.http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/action/splatterhouse/news.html?sid=6191756&mode=news Splatterhouse was released in North America on November 23, 2010 to both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.http://www.namcobandaigames.com/games/splatterhouse
Story
Players take control of Rick Taylor. Since childhood Rick had sensed demons calling to him from the darkness, trying to tear through from their own world into his. Then he met Jennifer; with the light of her love as his guide the darkness receded and was forgotten, almost like a bad dream.
When Dr. Henry West (the villain) kidnaps Jennifer, Rick is plunged back into darkness only to discover that the demons are real, and are there waiting for him. Left for dead on the floor of West’s mansion Rick teams up with a mysterious mask. It offers to save his life, in return for a whole lot of blood.
With this mask Rick is transformed into a brutal killer, and he pursues Dr. West battling hordes of undead creatures on his quest to save the woman he loves.
Gameplay
Splatterhouse is a third-person Action game. The goal is to survive while obliterating rooms full of demonic creatures bent on your destruction. Rick can lose body parts (with the ability to regrow them later), or tear off enemy limbs and use them as makeshift weapons.
Character customization is accomplished through the purchase of Necro Moves, which enhance Rick’s abilities. These are purchased with the blood tokens that you earn by smashing through the undead minions of Dr. West.
In addition to the main story there are survival arenas where players battle against unending waves of monsters. There is also the ability to unlock (for play) the previous ‘classic’ versions of the game by playing through the story mode.

Splatterhouse Phase 1: Satan's Masque Walkthrough
- After the cut scene you’re thrown right into your first free for all melee battle. Take the opportunity to try out some commands and get used to the controls.
- When you’ve killed everything and watched the cut scene head up the stairs to the right.
- Follow the hallway until you get to a door that will open for you, head inside.
- NOTE: You can smash various objects in the room and on the way but there is nothing useful inside
- Keep moving through another door until you’re locked in a room with some more baddies.
- GRAMOPHONE: With your back to the windows that the creatures broke in through look on the left wall to activate a gramophone.
- Leave by the newly opened door.
- PHOTO: Look for a glowing white piece of paper a bit to the right where the main path turns left.
- Head down the stairs and through the door to trigger a cutscene.
- Kill all the ghouls, they are weaker than the last enemies you’ve been fighting, a few hits will splatter them all over the floor.
- Leave through the open door and follow the hallway until you’re stopped.
- Go up the stairs into the next room. The door will close as you approach it forcing you to break it down.
- Pick up the weapon on the floor and get ready for a fight. Once you’ve killed a few of the demons the fire will go out. That is your chance to go through. If you wait too long the fire will come back and you’ll have to do some more fighting.
- Move through the hallway, be prepared for some ghouls to pop out at you.
- Before the next door you’ll find some boxes to break, squish the worms that spill out of them for extra blood.
- NOTE: Look for these worms in other destructible items throughout the game
- Kick open the next door
- GRAMOPHONE: To the right as you enter the room
- Kick open the next door to trigger a cutscene
- Pick up your arm and head through the door flanked by the pipe-like objects
- You’ll be set upon by some ghouls, take care of them.
- TROPHY: Killing any of these using your own arm as a weapon earns the trophy "Morbid Dismemberment"
- GRAMOPHONE: From the door in the far right corner
- Head back to the previous room. The tubes will explode unleashing a new type of enemy. These guys are tougher than the ones you’ve fought before. The game prompts you to try out the charge up attack, do so.
- TROPHY: Once you Splatterkill one of these guys you can pick up their dismembered arms and beat them with it. This will earn you the “See You At The Party” trophy. Killing 150 enemies using a dismembered arm will earn you the “None More Dead” Trophy.
- Head to the second open doorway, smash the crates on the way for some more blood worms.
- PHOTO: Directly through the door you’ll find a photo piece
- GRAMOPHONE: From the door look in the back right corner of the room
- Return to the main room once more and kick open the sealed door.
- Follow the hallway until you get to a room with a glowing floor. Listen to the dialogue.
- PHOTO: Look to the left of the glowing green floor.
- Ground pound the floor.
- You’ll be in a room full of enemies, a mix of ghouls and harder zombies. In order to progress kill them all.
- Run up to the emblem and punch the eye to reveal the stairs leading down.
- Take the stairs and enter the next room through the door.
- Grab the weapon in the middle of the room to release the zombies from the cages for slaughter. There are some blood worms in the barrels in this room.
- PHOTO: Check the cage left of the door you came in.
- Leave the room by the ramp leading downward.
- In this room you’ll have to fight several waves of zombies and spiked demons. This is a great place to get used to the dodge and block abilities, you’re going to need practice.
BOSS:
You’ll be fighting the big demon that tore your arm off earlier so get ready.
He will primarily attack with his whip, and with a charge maneuver. The whip has a long range, but can easily be avoided by staying out of reach. The charge can be avoided by doing a dodge/roll to one side.
Your goal is to get in close and punch him with some quick fast attacks. You’ll stagger him a bit, then after a few combos he’ll stumble to one side. When he does that get out of the way, he will recover by using an AOE attack.
The best strategy here is to do some hit-and-run attacks. Roll toward him (watching the whip) and beat on him. When he stumbles roll away and keep rolling. Rinse and repeat.
Whittle his health bar down and when he starts glowing finish him off with a Splatterkill.
Once you’ve killed the boss you’ll have the opportunity to buy some new skills. I suggest upgrading your health bar, you’re going to need it. When finished head through the open door for a cutscene.

Splatterhouse Phase 2: The Doll That Bled Walkthrough
- Head down the stairs, you’ll run into a zombie for a one-on-one fight. Kill it and move on.
- Kick down the door at the bottom of the stairs
- Head to the tubes on the right side of the room. Turn the valve to power the blood ciphers.
- Kill the zombies that were released.
- PHOTO: Back right corner of the room the zombies were released from
- Choose a cipher, picking the wrong one means fighting more zombies before you can move on. To pick the right one perform the Blood Siphon move (L1+Circle) and look for red markings.
- You will now be in a side scrolling hallway, pick up the machete in front of you and move to the right.
- Pound through the ghouls with your new weapon.
- Break through the boxes and other debris in your way. You’ll arrive at your first trap.
- The game prompts you to sprint over the spikes, do so.
- NOTE: Running into the sides of the spikes will also cause damage
- Past the spikes you will crash through some more debris and reach pit traps, wait for a moment as you approach to get the timing of the swinging morningstars before jumping over them.
- NOTE: Rick is a bad jumper, make sure you are very close to the edge of a pit before jumping. Falling in is instant death. You will have to make running jumps, don’t stand on the edge and try to jump from there.
- Past the pits you’ll run through some more ghouls.
- At the bottom of the stairs are burning pits, these are wider than the last ones so you have to be perfect.
- Continue following the hallway, there are more sets of ghouls and spike traps.
- You will fall out of the side scrolling hallway and reach another checkpoint.
- Follow the new hallway into a room with a locked door and some cages.
- Lift the door on the side of the room to release the enemies. As you kill enemies a mask to the left of the door will lower toward the floor. When you kill enough enemies a spike will protrude from it.
- The game will instruct you on how to grab an enemy and then impale it on the spike.
- TROPHY: Awarded for your first impalement, “Bad Taste”.
- Repeat the procedure on the mask to the right side of the door.
- PHOTO: Back left of the cage to the left of the door under some crates and boxes.
- Exit through the door. Pick up the machete in the hallway.
- Follow the hallway to the next room
- Quickly kill the smaller demons with the machete them smack the big demon with it for some major damage. The big demon will look familiar, he was the boss in the last Phase. Use the same strategy here and you should be safe.
- Smash the crates in the room where the demons were for a good haul of bloodworms.
- Raise the gate, beat up the demons and impale them on the spikes when they appear.
- If you haven’t already, grab the 2x4 from the caged room that you opened and head through the door.
- Toward the end of the next hallway you’ll run into another zombie, he shouldn’t be a problem with your 2x4.
- In the next room the door will close behind you. Open the cage to the right and head for the lever that you saw in there.
- There are 2 groups of zombies that will jump out at you on your way there, put the 2x4 to good use.
- Flip the lever.
- Take the lead pipe form the ground to replace the 2x4.
- Open the other cage and start impaling the baddies. The pipe works like a baseball bat, you can send the demons flying into the spikes with it.
- Leave through the open door and head up the stairs. There is a machete at the end of the next hallway for you.
- Kick open the door and get ready for a fight. The room turns into a giant blood pool and is full of ghouls and zombies, take them out with your new machete.
- TIP: When the big zombies grab you from behind you will drop your weapon, try not to let that happen.
- The room will change back to normal once you’ve killed all the baddies.
- Head through the next hallway to the end where you’ll find a room full of ghouls to kill. There is a 2x4 under a crate to the right of the bed to help.
- GRAMOPHONE: To the right from the door you entered in the corner
- Head through the open doors on the left side of the room.
- In this hallway you’ll fight your first blue ghoul, he’s tough and has some wicked attacks. Keep your health up if you find yourself taking damage.
- TIP: Get him against a wall and just keep punching, he won’t be able to move and you’ll be able to do a good amount of damage.
- Head through the wall on the left to the next hallway.
- Keep moving to the end of the hallway
- Ground pound the glowing button on the floor. This opens the door and activates the spike traps. Sprint past them like you did the floor ones.
- Head through the opened door and into another hallway with spike traps.
- Around the corner from the traps is a hallway filled with zombies. Try to thin them out by focusing on one at a time.
- Proceed up the stairs into the next room.
- GRAMOPHONE: On a table to the right as you enter.
- Open the room to the right and kill the ghouls inside.
- GRAMOPHONE: Back left corner
- Head back to the previous room and open the left door. Inside is another blue ghoul. Dodge back and to the side after opening the door to avoid his initial rush, then take the hurt to him.
- PHOTO: Back left of the room the blue ghoul was in.
- Back in the main room kick open the last door with the eye on it.
- You’ll enter a hallway with a few ghouls in it. Around the bend you’ll run in to a blue ghoul. Continue through the hallway and the door that opens for you at the end.
- You’ll fall in to an upside down room. This is another ‘kill waves of bad guys room’ so get to it.
- NOTE: Watch out for the blue ghoul that appears during the second wave.
- Head through the door that opens.
- You’ll see a group of blue ghouls get crushed at the end of the hallway, make your way there and around the corner.
- Watch out for flying furniture. Stick to the sides of the hallway and when something flies toward you stop moving and wait for it to pass.
- PHOTO: When the hallway opens up to the sides for the first time check the right forward corner
- Make your way to the end of the hallway and through the door.
- Checkpoint before you run down the hallway and find …
BOSS:
This is your first really ‘big’ boss fight. I’d recommend investing in the 5000 blood point “Unstoppa-bull” roll skill. This makes you invincible when dodging, it’ll come in really handy.
This is a three stage fight, and it will take some time, there aren’t any checkpoints in between so don’t rush it, stay calm and work him down a piece at a time.
Stage 1
First the boss will attack you with a bunch of flying debris. Roll back and forth in front of it until there isn’t any more flying furniture to attack you with.
After all the debris is expended the boss will come after you with his conventional attacks. He pounds the ground directly in front of him, so try to stay on his left/right/rear. He has two hands, and each one pounds the ground differently. The left arm has a piston that will do multiple ‘pounds’ when he lowers the hammer. The right arm has a giant spike protruding from a grandfather clock which will get stuck in the floor and freeze him in place for a second when he strikes.
Your goal here is to attack his heels/feet. Don’t just stand there beating on them, when he lifts his feet to pivot they will damage you. He will also use a ‘stomp’ attack (your mask will warn you this is coming).
Roll around until you get by his feet and start beating on them with your fists, then roll out of the way again. Don’t stay in one place too long. It takes practice but you’ll get a feel for how long you can punch him before he is going to move or stomp you. Stay alert and don’t forget you can heal yourself if you take some damage.
Once you beat up on his feet enough there is a cutscene. Pay attention, there will be a keypress prompt (button key press like when doing a Splatterkill). After the cutscene, you’ll have fallen to a lower level and the boss will be half stuck in the floor.
Stage 2
The boss now has rubber arms that shoot straight at you from across the room, then return. Try to dodge as best you can by rolling out of the way. He will also sweep the whole field with his arms (your mask will yell ‘Watch out!’ to warn you). This is where the invincible rolling helps, roll under the attack and you should be safe.
You can’t hurt him until he pounds the clock into the ground. Your mask will yell ‘Watch the clock!”. Dodge that move then start pounding on the clock. After a few rounds of dishing damage to the clock there will be another cut scene with another keypress prompt.
Stage 3
The boss will smash the floor in and you’ll be fighting his heels once more. This is a repeat of the first stage dodge the flying furniture just like you did the first time, roll back and forth as quick as you can.
Once the debris is gone close in and start working on his heels once more. He seems to turn around more often and shift position but it’s basically the same fight you did previously. He does a new frontal assault move where he swings both arms around, but as long as you stay out of the way you’ll be fine.
When you deplete his health bar there is another cutscene with multiple keypress prompts. And you finally get to rip off the dolls head!
By completing Phase 2 you earn “The Berserker” tropy, and unlock the classic Splatterhouse game.

Splatterhouse Phase 3: In the Shadows of the Abyss
- Check the area behind you for a lead pipe, then move forward through the area.
- Follow the monkey-like enemy that runs from you. It will stop and a group of them will attack you.
- These new enemies will crawl up things and try to stay away from you, then dive bomb you from above. If a red circle appears beneath you move quickly. Pound them down with the pipe.
- The last one will open the path leading upward.
- PHOTO: Go around the corner where you first ran into the dread lock monkey things and you’ll find the photo laying on the ground in the alley.
- Head up the path that the guy opened for you and follow it to the top of the crane.
- Break the console.
- Follow the new walkway through the door inside the building.
- Break the crate for some blood worms and go through the open door.
- Prepare yourself before dropping down; you’ll be in a side scrolling hallway with a giant spiked rotor from hell chasing you. While running from it you’ll have to jump over and roll under saw blades that come out of the floor and wall. The blades will all be lit up so watch for the lights not the blades.
- Toward the end of this hallway jump over the ghouls, don’t bother fighting them it takes too long.
- At the end of the hallway is a glowing grate, ground pound it to fall through.
- You drop into the sewers (still side scrolling). Dodge the spray that falls from the pipes above you and fight through the few ghouls and zombies you run into.
- After the second set of ghouls, proceed forward carefully so you don’t fall into the pit. You have to jump to the platforms. Don’t stand on them too long or they will drop out beneath you.
- Proceed along the catwalks. There are blood sprays at the points where you have to jump, so time it before making the leap.
- Once you clear the catwalks there are moving spiked rotors. Be very careful her not to get caught by them or you might never get back up. Jump over them to continue forward.
- Past them you’ll break through some bars and from there it is a straight beat down to the next doorway.
- Proceed through the next hallway to the next door (back in 3D now).
- Jump down in the next area.
- You’ll find a bus blocking your way and 2 lit up circles with spikes on them, time to practice more impaling.
- TIP: Beat down the ghouls and throw the spiked guys. Try to fight/throw from the middle of the area, if you’re too close you’ll only smash guys into the barriers.
- Finish off the last few guys after your two impales.
- PHOTO: Just after the bus, turn right and break the barrels.
- Follow the path then jump through a hole in the bricks on the left.
- Here you’ll be introduced to the fat zombies. They are much like the originals, but stronger, faster and can carry meat cleavers. There should be a cleaver right at your feet, grab it and chop them up.
- Once you’ve killed them a new path will open, jump down on to the roof.
- NOTE: Don’t fall off the second roof, be careful.
- Walk toward the edge, watch for the glowing mark on the hanging train car. Press X to jump to it.
- Immediately hold up on your left stick to highlight the next area and jump again, and a third time. Wait for the train car to rotate then jump again holding your left stick toward the roof before the car falls.
- Don’t stand still congratulating yourself - start moving forward, the roof is about to collapse.
- A steel girder will fall making a bridge to the next roof, jump up to use it and get across.
- Follow the path to the left as things fall apart.
- Keep running until you see a flashing white zombie (flashing white means you’re going to jump to it, just like on the train car). Jump! Watch for the keypress prompt.
- (If you missed the prompt) Kill the fat butcher zombie and take his cleaver.
- Head left by the windows and watch the ceiling crash down. Kill the butcher that breaks through behind you.
- PHOTO: Through the hole in the wall to the right
- Through the hole are a group of butchers, you’ve got your own machete so cut them down to size.
- Grab a new machete and go to the next hole in the wall.
- Highlight the fractured wall across the alley and jump. Watch for the keypress prompt.
- Chop through the next few guys until the roof collapses in front of you.
- Jump on the broken roof pieces and move across them.
- Kill the next group of butchers and replace your machete once more.
- Jump across to the next building once more. Watch for the keypress prompt.
- Run through the next building as the floor collapses, when you get to the edge the floor piece will collapse with you on it; don’t jump until the mask prompts you!
- Move along the roof and up the ramp. An antenna will fall making a bridge for you, take it.
- Chop apart the ghouls on the other side.
- Pry open the doors and enter the elevator
- Jump up to the glowing hand holds, back and forth, then through the door at the top of the elevator.
- Kill the ghouls that drop down then move on through the open doorway
- Get on the window washer lift and pull the lever to lower it down.
- Jump across to the next roof (keypress prompt) and watch the cutscene
- Grab the machete in the center of the room and lay waste to the dreadlock monkeys.
- PHOTO: On the ground to the right of where you entered this area, beneath the overhanging.
- Leave when the wall opens into a ramp.
- Same idea in this battle, but first you have to take out the Aegis monster (since it can make other monsters invincible and we don’t want that).
- Knock down the two platforms to bring it down to ground level
- The game prompts you to use your ‘Ram’ Move. Bash into the tentacle monster to stun it so you can beat it down with your fists. Do this a few times then finish it off with a Splatterkill.
- Kill the rest of the dreadlock monkeys to open the way forward.
- TIP: Now that you’ve mastered the ‘ram’ move, use it on the monkeys for an easy kill.
- Beat the spikey demons and watch the cutscene
- (This is the boss for Phase 3) Now your goal is to throw the spikey guys in to the mouth as fast as possible. The longer this goes on the harder it gets. While you’re trying to throw guys into the mouth you’ll be attacked by fat zombies who would rather feed you to it.
- It might be a good idea to kill the fat zombie with the cleaver before he kills you. You can then take the cleaver and clean out the zombies. Then drop it and toss the little guys in to the mouth.
- When you’ve fed the mouth enough it will trigger a cutscene and you’ll be on to the next Phase.

Splatterhouse Phase 4: The Meat Factory Walkthrough
- Welcome to the slaughterhouse. Head down the hall and up the stairs. Beat on the bloody wall until you get the option to tear it open.
- Continue along the hall to the right, pick up the 2x4 before the next door and go inside.
- Follow the hallway, and chase the blue ghoul into the next room. More ghouls will appear, take care of them with your 2x4. Pay special attention to the blue ones and get rid of them ASAP, they can tear you up pretty badly.
- Enter the next hallway. A blue ghoul will drop down on you soon after entering. Kill it quickly then get the next one eating at the end of the hall. (Don’t forget to grab the machete on your way past)
- Continue through the hallway, kick open the next door and enter the room for a cutscene.
- This room fills up with the fat butcher zombies, you can take them out easily with the machete you didn’t forget to pick up.
- Pick up a spare machete (if they dropped one) and continue through the open doorway.
- Follow the hallway to the right, and kick the door in to squish some ghouls.
- Run down the last section of hallway and into the next big room, get prepared for a fight.
MINI-BOSS:
This is your first real mini-boss (mid level boss) that you’ve encountered so far. This guy is difficult and needs some strategy.
His primary attack is to swing his oversized dangly arm at you, which hurts quite a bit. He will swing it in a wide area sweep in front of himself, or slam it downward. If you get close to him he will also grab and throw you. If he does grab you, start mashing the X button because you’re about to get a keypress prompt to save yourself from taking major damage.
Your regular attacks will hurt this guy, but not much. The game prompts you to use your charged attacks and that’s really the only way to do major damage. You can’t get in close for long enough to pull off fist combos anyway, this guy is pretty light on his feet for such a heavyweight.
The best strategy is to dance/dodge around him, get in a position where you can hit him with a charged attack from behind; it will stagger him, just don’t hang around for too long. It takes some practice, so don’t get discouraged and keep at it.
Finish him off with a Splatterkill when he gets low on health (or just beat him to death if you’re having trouble with this Splatterkill since you don’t have much time to react). If you do Splatterkill him don’t forget to grab his face/tusks for a weapon before you leave.
- PHOTO : As you leave the room it’ll be in the middle of the hallway
- Keep moving and kick in the next door.
- Take a right (watch cutscene) and continue into the room.
- The next room is full of spiky guys (you remember them) this time there aren’t spikes in the walls, there are spikes on chairs. Your job isn’t hard to figure out. Grab a guy, walk to a chair and mash him down on it. The game will prompt you with a quick tutorial.
- NOTE: The mask is right, but this isn’t the only thing.
- The next room is the bakery, wait for it to glow white then run through when the color returns to normal to avoid becoming the next burned loaf.
- PHOTO: In the hallway hug the left wall. The photo is right before the fence and sign that reads ‘Keep Out’
- Obviously they didn’t mean you when they put the sign there, so keep going.
- Continue through the hall and to the left, smash some ghouls and pry open the next door.
- The path branches here, head to the right first but don’t go around the corner. Wait for the fire from the furnace.
- When the fire retreats step around the corner and grab the machete, then backtrack and take the straight path.
- The next part requires you to hurry, so don’t dawdle. You’ll enter three of the bakery type rooms, each one will fill with monsters that you have to kill before you can move on. If you take too long, you’ll all get cooked.
- The first room has ghouls, beat on them till you hear the bell and see the next room cool off, then rush in to it.
- The second room has ghouls and spiky guys, take care of business and listen for the bell. Your mask will let you know when to move on.
- TIP: You can kick guys into the field in the other room for instant kills
- The third room is full of spiky guys, same process here.
- In the next room wait a moment and the floor will drop out from beneath you.
- You’ll fall into a side scrolling hallway, you know what that means – traps are ahead.
- Step onto the belt to the right.
- There are crushing things that will drop down from above, so don’t rush and don’t sprint past. The belt you are riding will give you enough momentum to run past. The ghouls you run into shouldn’t be a problem for you.
- TIP: Running sideways into the crushers will momentarily stun you, try to avoid that.
- After the conveyor belt you’ll come to a platform jumping area. Watch out for the gears that move between the platforms, they’ll take you down given a chance.
- Past the platforms are some ghouls and a zombie. Take them down and watch out for the next area.
- Wait a moment to get the timing of the jets, then run over them. You’ve had lots of practice at this sort of thing already, this isn’t any different.
- Past the second section of flames grab the lead pipe and beat on the next group of ghouls.
- Watch these next sections to get the timing down, don’t rush.
- After the flames is a moving platform, jump on it and ride it across.
- Bat the last group of ghouls around with the pipe and continue through the door at the end.
- Run forward through the hall and break open the door to the left at the end.
- Continue on to the next room, beating down the ghouls that pop up behind you.
- Pull the lever on the console to open the doors.
- Move to the next room, grab the pipe on the ground (replace yours if you still have it) then hit the switch on the console.
- Pulling the lever drops some spikes into position and releases some spiky demons, use the pipe to bat them on to the spikes. Three spikes will fill the first tank.
- After that first batch some fat butcher zombies will arrive, beat them down with the pipe (or throw them on to the spikes) and finish off your second batch of blood.
- Grab a machete and head back to the first control room, and across it to the room on the right.
- PHOTO: Check the far right corner of this room
- Break the boxes in this room for a batch of blood worms, then hit the switch on the console.
- Rip through some spiky guys and wait for another one of those big monsters with the huge arm to show up. Same strategy as last time here, but you’ll also be fighting spiky guys, so try to make it quick. Focus on the big guy, once you take him down the fight is over.
- Head back to the first control room and enter the newly opened elevator. Hit the switch to ride up.
- At the top, leave through either (left or right) door and follow the path (kill a couple ghouls) to a large and very long room.
- This area is a lot like the bakery area earlier, you have to move forward, kill a bunch of guys before time runs out, then get off the platform and on to the next area before the floor drops out from beneath you.
- The first section is ghouls, lay waste to them.
- TIP: Safe sections are green, danger sections are red, look for the lights.
- Move forward when the mask tells you. The next section is ghouls, same thing here.
- TIP: It's easy to get turned around, don't just blindly run forward toward another section, look for the one that the floor is actually solid.
- The next section contains fat zombies with butcher blades, take care. For instant kills you can kick them off the platforms into the fan blades. Try to get one of their blades to make the rest of this easier.
- Next section is ghouls once more. Mop these guys up and move on.
- Back to fighting butcher zombies. If you haven’t gotten much use out of your rampage ability, this would be a good place to use it.
- Last you’re fighting another giant handed guy, and in close quarters this time. Try out a three heavy hit combo to stagger him then try to dodge out of the way as best you can. Rinse and repeat.
- TIP: If you’ve slain a bunch of butchers use the weapons they dropped to chop this guy down to size.
- Get out of that death trap and run down a long hallway to the next room with a bunch of enemies in cages.
- Grab the shotgun in the middle of the room and turn it on the caged monsters. When you do, the rest of the cages will open and you’ll have even more enemies for target practice. You should have enough ammo to take everything out, if you run out just grab one of the cleavers lying around to finish up.
- PHOTO: After you’ve killed everything, face the exit and check the middle cage on the right side.
- Head into the elevator and grab the new shotgun. You’re going to need it.
BOSS
The mask might not be so helpful at the start of this fight, but the shotgun sure will be. When you exit the elevator you’ll be in a side scrolling hallway with a huge monster with chainsaws for arms. Again this is a multi-stage battle.
Stage 1:
He was silly enough to bring chainsaws to a shotgun fight, so show him how it’s done. Don’t rapid fire your shots, give him time to recover from each one (you could end up wasting a shot during his invincible period of recovery). You should have enough ammo to bring him down.
If you end up not killing him with the shotgun you’ll have to take him down with your fists. A leaping heavy attack seems to stagger him more than anything else. Definitely hit him with charged attacks, your quick attacks don’t do much damage. Also don’t hit him when he is winding up, his attack will always go through. Wait until he swings his saws before striking.
Stage 2:
When you do enough damage you’ll drop down into a 3D arena. If you haven’t bought the roll skill that I mentioned earlier get it now.
This guy likes to flail around with the chain saws basically decimating anything anywhere near him, try to keep your distance when you can. Dodge around, keep out of reach, then get close and smack him with a three heavy hit combo. Then get out of the way before he recovers. Again, don’t attack when he is already swinging; get him before or after an attack to actually stagger him.
Try not to rely on your light attack combos, this guy is a heavy hitter and needs the same from you. If you can help it, store up your Berserker gauge for the next part of the fight.
If you get close he might use his chainsaws to stun you. The lights will go out and you’ll have to dodge three attacks. Start swinging your Left Stick back and forth immediately, don’t wait to get prompted.
When you get him low enough you’ll see a keypress prompt leading into a short cutscene with another prompt.
Stage 3:
The lights will go out after the cutscene. When they come back on get out of the way in a hurry before you get run over.
If you saved up your berserker gauge now is the time to use it. Go berserk and tackle him head to head. You’ll easily beat him down in your new and improved super form.
If you didn’t save up, watch out for even more AOE spinning attacks and a wicked charge move. Your strategy here is to dodge the charge, then hit him in the back. Try to avoid him at all other times.
Either way, when you get his health down activate the keypress event and tear off one of his arms.
Stage 4:
Now you have a chainsaw, and so does he so you’re almost evenly matched. Wait for him to charge you then beat him to death with his own weapon. With only one arm he isn’t nearly as difficult as before. Keep in mind you can’t roll out of the way now that you’re carrying a heavy weapon.
Each time you attack, hit him three or four times, then keep moving. Hit and run hasn’t failed you yet. When you wear his health down (again!) finish him off with a Splatterkill.
Completing Phase 4 earns you the “Be Garbage of Cesspool” trophy and unlocks Slaughterhouse 2 classic. You also gain the Splatter Slash skill.

Splatterhouse Phase 5: The Corpse That Won't Die
- To start, just hold still a moment while the mask gives you a history lesson. Then when the zombies start popping up, you start killing them.
- When you’ve killed enough of them walk to the eye and smash it in.
- PHOTO: Top of the stairs on the left
- Follow the path to the right and grab the chainsaw.
- Enter the door that opens behind you and chainsaw down the zombies by holding the sprint button.
- Follow the hallway to the next room. Just hold down the sprint key to buzz saw everything in your path.
- The red zombies in here can hurt you just by touching you, so take them out quickly with the chainsaw. A few more regular zombies will pop out of the floor, take them out too.
- Once you kill everything else two guys with the giant arms will appear. Try to take one down quickly with the chainsaw, then kill the second one the old fashioned way.
- TIP: If you end up fighting two of them without a chainsaw hit the berserk key and take them both down quickly.
- Smash the back out of the opened crypt and head down the hallway.
- This room is full of bloodworms, so stock up before moving on through the door.
- Follow the hall through two left turns to the next room.
- This room contains a giant eye and some zombies. Take care of the zombies first so they don’t bother you when you’re at the eye.
- Try to rip off some arms, they work well against the eye. Be careful though the eyelids can cut your arms off just as easily.
- TIP: If they do cut off your arm pick it up and beat the eye with it.
- When you’ve done enough damage Splatterkill the eye to rip it out and open the passageway.
- PHOTO: As you make your way along the hallway you’ll find a room to the left with a bunch of crates in it. Smash them to reveal the picture (and a batch of bloodworms).
- Keep moving along the hallway until you reach a wooden wall – break it down.
- Jump forward off the ledge to the first handhold, then jump back and forth before the handholds fall beneath your weight.
- This section is go-go-go. A few jumps and you’ll reach a bridge that starts to crumble.
- Run forward and jump to the handhold that drops from above.
- Jump to the next bridge piece.
- Wait for the block to fall then jump across.
- Wait again for a block to fall and jump once more.
- Keep running forward and drop down into the big room ahead of you.
- You fight a new spikey enemy here. They’re stronger than the others, and have a mean uppercut. Before you can deal with them though you have to take out the invulnerability octopus.
- Do your running charge to stun the Aegis, then beat it down.
- Ground pound the button in the center of the room when you’re done to activate the mouths on either side of the door.
- Pick up a 2x4 from either side of the room and start batting spikey guys in to the mouths.
- When you’ve fed them enough the cipher will light up, rip out the eye to continue on.
- Grab the fresh 2x4 and pry open the door.
- PHOTO: In the middle of the hall under some boxes
- Continue on to another big room with three big enemies (2 big-arms and a demon).
- They jump down one at a time, so try to make short work of the first one before the second one gets down.
- Splatterkill the first one and use its head to beat on the second one.
- When the demon jumps down back off for a minute, he’ll amp up the attack of the second big arm. When it wears off take it out quickly, then turn your attention to the demon.
- You’ve fought these demons before, run in, hit him hard, then get out of the way. Splatterkill him to finish him off.
- Pry open the door and grab the machete.
- NOTE: This machete is VERY important.
- Chop off heads in this next room, lots of them! Then drop the machete.
- PHOTO: Grab a head and run over to one of the pedestals, hit your action button to impale the head. Repeat with remaining 3 pedestals to open the room where the photo resides.
- TIP: Don’t waste your whole machete! Cut off some heads, drop it, then go back for it. The heads don’t stick around forever.
- Finish clearing out the improved spikey monsters.
- Drop down through the hole the cipher cleared.
BOSS
The thing that has been following you the whole level is a giant worm. Now you get to meet it face to ugly face. As far as boss fights go this one isn’t actually that difficult.
The worm has 2 attacks, a head smash, and a tongue sweep. Stay as far away as possible form the worm and you’ll avoid both of those attacks, they don’t reach across the whole room.
First clear the room of the ghouls that pop up. When they’re gone and no more show up its time to focus on the worm. Get close and try to get him to head smash you. Dodge out of the way, then come in swinging. Either pop your berserk mode, or use some mask moves (you already have one for free) to do the most damage in the shortest time possible. Attack from the front, not the side, since the worm moves to the side when retreating and will do some damage. It will reel in after a short period, rinse and repeat.
After a few good beatings you’ll finish off the worm, and finish the Phase.

Splatterhouse Walkthrough - 18 - Phase 5: The Corpse That Wouldn't Die - Part 2
Splatterhouse Phase 6: Beast With a Human Heart
- You start here in a side scrolling hallway. There are a few ghouls on the way to a spiked pit and platform.
- Jump on to the platform and continue down the hallway.
- Kill the couple more ghouls and hit the switch at the end of the hall to open the door.
- Smash the zombie in to the rotating grinder then wait a minute to get the timing down before running beneath the grinder between the blades.
- TIP: Rick runs funny so don’t try to follow slowly right behind the blade, wait for a moment so you can just run straight through behind it.
- After the two rotor blades are some more ghouls and a few spike traps. Sprint across (or jump over) the traps like usual.
- Past the spikes is some kind of hanging baby thing, get in there and pummel it until it dies. If you hang back it’ll spit on you, which hurts quite a bit.
- After the hanging baby are some spike pits. Watch out for a flying monster that comes from the right side of the screen after your first jump. Wait on the middle platform for it to pass before making the second jump.
- Bash some boxes and open the grate to continue.
- Flip the switch on the elevator for a ride up, be prepared for a zombie attack when it reaches the top.
- Grab the pipe that is waiting for you after slamming the zombie and clear the way along the next hallway.
- Jump on the raised platform and time your way through the chopping traps.
- Plaster some more ghouls to the screen and keep moving.
- Another big baby here, beat it to death with your pipe.
- Drop down and plaster more ghouls with the pipe as you roll beneath some obstacles.
- Jump up on the raised platforms to reach the next rotating blade trap. Just be careful and time your way through the spinning blades.
- You’ll cross over a deactivated switch and come to some stopped rotor blades, roll beneath them and kill the zombie in the next area to get to a switch on the far wall.
- Flip the switch and make your way back, the traps are now activated.
- Sprint past the bladed roof trap.
- Jump over the bladed floor trap.
- Sprint through the double bladed trap, and then time your way through the spinning rotors (same as before).
- Kill a few ghouls after the second bladed rotor trap then ground pound the switch to activate the elevator.
- When the elevator stops you’ll have to jump from handhold to handhold to get to the top of the shaft. Watch the tentacle things, they will spit out spikes, so don’t jump until the spikes retract.
- NOTE: One of the tentacles shoots a spike directly at the handhold, so don’t hang around on that one long, jump to the next one right away.
- At the top you’ll be breaking through a wall, so get ready for a keypress event when you jump the last time.
- Enter the door at the end of the hall.
- PHOTO: Follow the hallway past the heart and up the stairs to the sealed door, break the boxes next to the door to reveal it.
- Break open the door to continue.
- This room has a mouth guardian like the statue of liberty, throw the spikey guys into it and beat away the ghouls that get too close. This is actually easier than the last time, you don’t have zombies to worry about.
- Leave through the mouth when you’ve fed it enough and watch the cutscene
- Bust the boxes for some bloodworms then head to the passage on the right of the main door you were facing when the cutscene ended.
- There is a blue ghoul in here that will tear you up, so put him down quickly.
- PHOTO: At the end of this passage you’ll see it on the floor after you kill the ghoul
- Backtrack to the main room and take the passage to the left of the door.
- Follow the passage to the left and enter another room
- GRAMOPHONE: To the left as you enter this room on a shelf.
- Throw the switch to get the electricity running.
- Head back to the main room once more.
- Facing away from the main locked door there are two more doors at the far back wall on each side of the room. Take the left door.
- GRAMOPHONE: To the left as you enter this room on a shelf.
- Flip the switch in this room, backtrack and head for the main door that is no longer locked.
- NOTE: You can go through the fourth door if you wish, but there is nothing inside.
- Bust the egg shaped things in this room for a crop of blood worms before you ground pound the switch in the middle.
- You’ll note that there are four spikes around the room, once you hit the switch and the spikey guys start rolling in grab them and plant them down on the spikes.
- After two impalements a demon will appear, I’d recommend dealing with him before trying to finish the impalements. You’ve fought them before, hit him with a combo then get out of the way.
- Once you’ve impaled four guys and dealt with the demon ground pound the switch again to open the door.
- Head down the hallway, smash the crates for a bloodworm crop.
- PHOTO: Pry open the door and it is sitting in the middle of the floor.
- Take a look around the elevator and note the winches, you’ll be protecting those as the elevator rises this time. It will stop and you’ll be swamped with baddies who are trying to destroy the gears.
- Hit the switch to continue.
- The first stop is ghouls and zombies, kill the ghouls since they’ll be attacking the gears and beat the zombies out of your way, deal with them last.
- NOTE: You can do damage to the gears too so be careful.
- Hit the switch to continue.
- Same thing at the second stop, hit the switch to continue.
- TIP: Use your grab move to quickly deal with groups of ghouls. It will instantly kill them and not do any damage to the gears.
- Third stop, more zombies, more ghouls. Try to take the ghouls out first as usual. If you can splatter kill some zombies it’ll make life easier.
- Hit the switch to raise the elevator to the last stop (no more fights).
- Leave through the door and follow the hallway.
- Follow it as it circles to the left and into a new hallway which leads to the right.
- Drop down into the large room and bust the control panel in front of you.
- The lights will come on and tubes will rise up to release fat zombies for you to deal with. They’ll come in waves (one, then two, three, and four) and be mixed with ghouls. Keep on killing until everything is dead.
- After the wave with four of them, two big-armed mutations will come through the wall. You should know how to deal with these guys by now. For a quick and easy kill just hit your berserk key and take it to them.
- Exit through the door that opens.
- PHOTO: Immediately to the left when the door closes behind you.
- GRAMOPHONE: Opposite the photo on the other side of the door.
- Continue through the hallway breaking the crates for bloodworms.
- Head through the door at the end of it and face the boss for this Phase.
BOSS:
This is another multi-part boss. You have to beat him down a few times before he finally kicks the bucket.
Stage 1:
In the first stage the boss is kind of slow, and will flail his arms around quite a bit. He has a regular hand, and a hammer hand, both are very dangerous. He will swing the hammer hand in an arc in front of him, and his regular hand in an arc behind him. The only relatively safe place to stand is beside his left hip (hammer side). If you stick around there too long through he will pound the hammer hand straight down on your head.
NOTE: If you are too close to the edge when he swats you he can send you over the side to instant death, try to fight him more centrally in the arena.
The strategy to use here is to roll around and avoid the sweeping frontal attacks. Try to get at his hammer side. Hit him with a quick combo and get out of there. Sometimes he will slam either the hammer or his hand straight downward which will freeze him in place momentarily. This is a great time to get in some extra hits or use a mask attack on him.
Once you’ve beaten down his health bar you’ll get a keypress event to tear one of the transformers out of his back and jam it in his face.
Stage 2:
In this stage he gets two new long range attacks. First he will slam down his hammer sending energy bursts across the arena. Second he will charge and swing his hammer in an arc before him. Both of these are difficult to dodge, but if you keep at what you’ve been doing you should be ok.
He seems faster in this phase, a good way to work around him is to keep dodging, and wait till he swings, then roll in, hit him with a heavy attack and roll out. Don’t keep trying for combos; it’s likely to get you swatted by his free hand.
Another keypress event is triggered when you knock his health down far enough. This time you rip out a spark plug and get to use it against him.
Stage 3
The new attack for this stage is an AOE energy attack like the one from the hammer that can stun you in place. If you’re unlucky he’ll follow this with an electrical bolt from his hammer that will carry you over the side for an instant kill.
Now that you have his spark plug you have to get in close and beat him with it. Use the same strategy you’ve been using so far, get in hit him, and get out before you die.
Once you finish beating him with the spark plug you’ll get one more keypress event, then a cutscene to finish off this Phase.
For completing Phase 6 you earn the “Experiment 765” trophy and unlock the Splatter Smash skill.

Splatterhouse Phase 7: Scream Park Walkthrough
- Break through the door and enter the amusement park.
- PHOTO: To the left of the dog statue, bust up a booth to reveal it.
- Follow the exit to the right and along the pathway.
- Enter the large area with a carousel in the center.
- Head left, and smash a cart for some bloodworms, and smash a booth for a 2x4.
- Continue following the left wall till you get to the lever, pull it.
- Try to leave through the door that opened and you will trigger the first fight of this phase.
- You’ll be introduced to some demon clowns, the stuff of nightmares for many people. These guys are a real pain, they breathe fire, and do some kind of breakdancing spinkick maneuver. Mostly they’re the same as any other zombie that you’ve fought so far.
- Beat them down with your trusty 2x4.
- When the first wave is dead another wave will come, and then a third wave. If you run out of 2x4 time, bust up the other booths in the area to reveal another one.
- After splattering the third wave of clowns you can leave through the clown face to the next area.
- Follow the pathway to the next large area. You’ll get a short cutscene, note the spikes, you know what to do with them.
- PHOTO: The door to the far left with the spike next to it needs to be opened first. Impale something on it to get the photo inside. Do this before opening the other doors just to make sure you don’t miss it.
- Impale a guy on the spike beside the middle door to open it and release the demon. Killing him will let you move on, so don’t waste any time.
- Clear out the little guys with your 2x4 or the weapon from the right hand door, then take it to the demon.
- Leave through the door that opens and follow the path to the next area.
- Enter the clown’s mouth, follow the path and through the next door that opens for you.
- In the center of this room is a machine that tests your strength. Impale a spikey guy on it then ground pound it to ‘ring the bell’.
- TIP: Use the baseball bat in the center of this are to bat guys onto the spike.
- Ring the bell three times to move on.
- Cross the bridge and go through the wooden barricade to enter the tunnel of love.
- Follow the path along
- PHOTO: On the ground in the center of one of the hearts, you can’t miss it.
- Continue along the path until you enter the next big room with the worm boss from the last Phase. You beat it once already, do the same thing here. Wait for it to bash it’s head down then pummel it to death.
- Smash the stands in this room for some bloodworms, then leave through the hole in the floor.
- Cross the bridge to trigger a fight with some clowns.
- After a short time a big-armed demon will show up. Take care of him as well.
- TIP: Don’t be afraid to use the Splatter Smash that you earned last level to clear some space and do some damage.
- When everything is dead, cross the bridge to continue.
- Follow the tracks past some smashing traps and through a door.
- Approach the door with a dog on it to trigger the next fight.
- These little guys don’t do a lot of damage, but they explode when hit and will send you flying. Hit them with the Splatter Smash skill to avoid getting tossed around.
- When they’re dead a demon will show up, deal with him as usual.
- Leave through the door that opens and follow the tracks.
- Continue along the path after you see Jenny.
- PHOTO: Along the path you are following. DO NOT go past this or you will be back at the beginning and have to fight another clown battle.
- Backtrack to just before the door where you saw Jenny; the path branched to the left (if you didn’t notice previously).
- There is a moving platform, wait for it, then jump on and ride it across.
- Move to the second platform, then jump off at the other end.
- Continue along the path.
- Kick open the door, grab the bat and jump down, then start baseball batting clowns.
- When you’re done with the huge wave of clowns, some fish gill demons will jump out of the lake in front of you. These guys are pretty nasty.
- TIP: Head to the back right side of the arena, smash a stand to reveal a 2x4 that makes this a whole lot easier.
- The fish gill demons have some special attacks, they will jump in the air and spit at you (two times, roll to avoid it) and dive into the ground, then come up with a slashing attack (more rolling to get out of the way). Their standard attack is a jumping double slash at you. These guys also are like the dreadlock monkeys, they like to hang back and not come at you directly. Your charge moves are really useful here.
- It will take a while to beat through all of these fish gill demons, and it isn’t easy, but try to keep your health up since when you have finally killed them all …
BOSS
This boss is what you get when you cross a ugly frog with an uglier dog. It may look mean and nasty but you’ve beaten bigger guys already so this guy shouldn’t scare you all that much.
This boss has two ways to hurt you. He’ll grab you and try to eat you, or try to ram you. Don’t attack him head on, if he grabs to eat you and you miss the keypress prompt you’re a dead Rick.
To beat this thing, keep your distance and wait for it to charge. You’ll know it is about to charge because it’ll slobber all over the place. When it does, dodge out of the way and it will stun itself for a short period. This is your opportunity to lay the smack down on it.
Five or six rounds of beating (use your strong attacks) will let you trigger the Splatterkill, which is the most complicated up to this point so pay attention to get it done right the first time.
When it's dead, leave up the stairs and you’re done with this Phase.

Splatterhouse Phase 8: Reflections in Blood Walkthrough
- PHOTO: Destroy the blue booths to the left to reveal the picture.
- Follow the path to a large area with three weapons in circles on the ground. Depending on which weapon you pick you will fight different enemies. (Cleaver = Spikey guys, Chainsaw = Clowns, Shotgun = Demons). I had the most fun with the chainsaw.
- When you’ve killed your chosen group, three ciphers will light up ready for eye gouging. Use your Blood Siphon skill to check for the right Cipher (The symbol will appear inside the weapon circles). If you pick the wrong one you’ll have to pick a weapon and try again.
- Leave through the doggy door.
- PHOTO: Follow the path and look on the ground just before the door to the next area
- Kick open the door and proceed.
- Continue through the side scrolling hallway into the fun house.
- After the cutscene you are now being timed, you have to pick a mirror and bust it. If you pick the wrong mirror you have to fight a Jennifer ghoul, which is just plain mean. These ghouls are just like blue ghouls, they’ll rip you apart if you give them a chance.
- NOTE: If you take too long you’ll be attacked by a whole pack of Jennifer ghouls and will most likely die.
- Smash through the left mirror in the first room.
- Smash the middle mirror in the second room to stop the timer.
- PHOTO: Before heading down the hallway go back to the mirror on the right and smash it, kill the Jenn ghoul and retrieve the picture she was guarding.
- Smash the right mirror in the third and then in the fourth room.
- Follow the hallway into a side-scrolling section.
- PHOTO: You can’t miss it as you run through this section. Getting it should unlock the “Creepy Show” trophy.
- Keep moving through the hallway until …
BOSS
This boss is actually a series of fights, each one is a differently powered up version of Rick. You should know your own moves by now, so you know how much of a pain this is going to be.
Rick 1 – Normal Rick
The first alternate Rick is the basic version, he does have your charge attack and can execute some combos. He’s also really fast and hard to dodge. Whenever you get too far away he uses his charge move, which is very difficult to dodge. Your best bet is to hammer at him and try to block his attacks. Try to conserve your blood for later versions.
Rick 2 – The Swarm
Next stage of this fight will throw you against multiple regular Ricks. These guys aren’t nearly as tough and will die in just a couple hits. Take them out quick, throw in some mask moves to do some AOE damage. They will try to gang up on you from all sides, don’t let them. Roll out of the way and try to keep them all in front of your fists. In total there are about seven of these knock-offs.
Rick 3 – Masked Rick
The next Rick through the mirror will have your mask moves and is really going to hurt. It is going to be tempting to use your blood here, but try to save it for the final Rick which will come out in a second. This guy will charge you and use the Splatter Slash. He also makes liberal use of the Splatter Smash which has quite a long range. Try not to stand directly in front of him. When you do hit him, do it from the side or back so he can’t retaliate immediately.
NOTE: Standing still to Blood Siphon here usually means getting Splatter Slashed before you can get much health.
Rick 4 – Berserk Rick
This Rick will try to go Berserk on you, so return the favour. Beat him down and prove that a knock-off is never as good as the real thing. Activate your Berserk mode and use every hard hitting attack you’ve got. Just focus on the big guy, the clowns that pop up and try to help will get caught in the cross fire all by themselves.
If your Berserk mode wears off first you’re in for a world of hurt. Don’t try to tackle this guy head on; he’ll cut you to pieces. Stay out of his way and beat on the clowns to get your blood up so you can go back to work.
Finish him off with an awesome Splatterkill.
For killing yourself over and over you are awarded the “Shattered Narcissus” trophy. You also unlock Splatterhouse 3 classic.
Splatterhouse Walkthrough - 25 - Phase 8: Reflections In Blood
Splatterhouse Phase 9: The Ruined Heart
- This place should look somewhat familiar. Don’t stand around listening to the Doctor, there are some round blood pods you can break here to earn yourself some quick blood.
- When the doctor is done talking two big armed guys will jump down to kill you. By now you should be used to fighting them, even two at a time, so this is nothing new.
- When you’ve killed them both a new improved black big-arm will jump down. This guy can chain moves together, so you have to adjust your strategy a bit. Instead of running in after the first attack, run in after the second swing. Apart from that he’s pretty much the same.
- TIP: If you Splatterkilled the last guy, grab the head and do a charging slam with it right in to ‘Blackie’. It’ll do a lot of damage and give you a head start at beating him down.
- PHOTO: Take the right staircase and follow it until the first overhanging balcony, it is there on the floor.
- Backtrack to the left staircase and follow it up through the door.
- Head up the stairs and down the hallway. Take the 2x4 after the tentacle knocks you down.
- Through the door you’ll face 3 demons. Smoke one with the 2x4 and try to kill him quickly. If you can get a Splatterkill on these guys you can use their heads as a weapon. By now you should be familiar with how to kill them, use your mask moves for an easy time of it.
- GRAMOPHONE: To the left of the exit
- Go through the door and immediately right, smash the vase and pick up the shotgun.
- Follow the hall into the next room.
- Blast the frog-dog thing with the shotgun to kill it off quickly. When it dies a worm will appear on the far side of the room. Back up into the corner to avoid the tongue sweeps.
- When it’s head smashes down, unload with the shotgun. When you run out of shells run up and beat it, as usual.
- PHOTO: To the right of the exit door
- Leave through the door and follow the hallway to the next room.
- This is another hungry mouth room.
- First you’ll be fighting two more demons, you fought three of them earlier so you should be in good shape here. Try to conserve your blood, you’ll need it in a minute.
- Next a round of red zombies that hurt you when you touch them, so try to get them to bunch up and use the Splatter Smash to kill them all at once.
- Another group of the red zombies, same deal here.
- Now some spikey guys will show up with the zombies; quickly throw them in the mouth and try to avoid the zombies as much as possible.
- TIP: If you get stuck without blood and with a room full of red zombies, you can use your charged strong attack to do some damage without getting hurt.
- When you’ve fed the mouth enough it’s time to move on.
- GRAMOPHONE: On the left side of the room when facing the mouth. This should be the last one and earn you the “Audiophile” trophy.
- Exit through the mouth and follow the toothy passageway.
- Dodge around the red zombies and snag the saw that the game showed you. Go back and kill those zombies with it.
- Continue along the toothy walkway sawing everything else that gets in your way.
- At the end of the bridge is an eye, hit it with the chainsaw if you still have it, and then pummel it until you can tear it out. This should seem familiar, you’ve done it before.
- PHOTO: Through the eye, into the next room and immediately to the right.
- This room is full of ghouls, slaughter them indiscriminately.
- When all the ghouls are dead some red zombies will appear, group them up and Splatter Smash them.
- Kill all the red zombies and 2 black big-arms will come in. Be careful letting these guys group up, because if you get between the two of them they’ll pound you down pretty quickly. Try to focus on one at a time (or use Mask moves for AOE damage).
- When they’re both dead a hole in the floor will open.
- You’ll drop in to a side scrolling area. Make your way along it, killing the guys that come to you. Watch out for the tentacles that come out of the wall and floor.
- You’ll come to a lift which will activate automatically.
- Stand in the middle and get ready to dodge. Tentacles will come from the walls to slap you. When you see movement, dodge. They alternate 3 times, then 2 appear on the same side, then they alternate again.
- At the top, move forward a bit and grab the 2x4 before continuing.
- You’ll come to a spike pit. Scale the wall on alternating jump points.
- At the top there are some traps. Run under the spike squishers and watch for the tentacle in the ground.
- Jump through the hole in the floor.
- PHOTO: To the left of the heart, grab it quickly.
- This room is about to fill with a horde of ghouls, you know what to do with them.
- TIP: If you still have the 2x4, drop it, bigger fish are coming.
- When you kill the ghouls you’ll be fighting 2 more big black guys.
- TIP: There is a 2x4 on the left side of the room and a machete on the right side.
- Once you’ve killed the two blackies a frog-dog thing will jump down. Take him out too. Remember, dodge the charge and beat him while he’s stunned. Watch out for the eating you thing, you don’t want to die at this point. Try to save your blood if you can.
- The heart will lower in to a nest of bone spikes, you can destroy these with mask moves, or go berserk and bash them all to pieces. If you don’t have the blood just wait a moment because spikey guys are about to spawn all around you.
- NOTE: The spikes will hurt you if you get too close, you have to bash the side ones before you can take down the center spike.
- When all the spikes are broken use your action key to pull down the heart.
- After the cutscene you are finished with this Phase.

Splatterhouse Phase 10: The Wicker Bride
- You’re on the clock! So no time to waste.
- PHOTO: Turn left and run over to the wall, smash the crates to reveal it.
- Backtrack and head down the stairs. Just run past enemies to save time.
- Go straight across the courtyard and break down the gate.
- Continue straight and follow the hedged-in path.
- Kick in the next gate with zombies clinging to it.
- When you get to the courtyard with the next gate and blue ghouls you have to fight. Take care of the two ghouls first, they’ll tear you apart pretty quickly.
- You aren’t done after the first wave though, they keep coming and coming. You have to beat through quite a few of them to unlock the gate before time runs out.
- TIP: There is a machete under the crates in the opposite corner of the locked gate which will speed things up considerably.
- PHOTO: Under the same crates as the machete
- Head through the open gate into the portal
- You can move while you’re falling, but not far and not well, if you can try to avoid the debris to earn more time on your clock.
- Kick through the gate when you land and run forward.
- Around the corner you run in to a frog-dog, in the interest of saving time go all out on this guy as fast as possible. If you have the blood use your Berserker mode and kill him quick.
- As soon as you kill the monster run past and follow the path to a cutscene
- PHOTO: When you get control back, turn around and head to the back right corner of the area. You should see some crates there, break them to reveal the photo.
- Ignore the fighting and run through the open gate
- Follow the path around to the left and through another open gate.
- Sprint across the courtyard and kick down the gate
- Take a left and run toward the gate.
- PHOTO: Do a bull-rush charge move up the stairs and aim to the right, you should smoke the fish gill monster hiding in there. Break the crates to reveal the photo.
- Kick in the gate to the courtyard and run inside.
- You’re fighting three blackie demons in here, take them out as fast as you can, beat on them to build up blood then hit your Berserker mode and take them down fast.
- TIP: Splatterkills don’t run down the clock, so use them to save some time if you need it
- Rush through the portal, again try to dodge debris if you can to make up as much time as possible.
- You’ll fall into the area around the burning wicker statue. It’s full of fish gill monsters. Again, don’t bother trying to be pretty, kill them as fast as possible. Use mask moves, or Berserker mode to tear through them.
- When they’re all dead, hurry over to the front of the burning straw statue. There are jump points all the way to the top, just keep jumping until you trigger a cutscene.
- After the cutscene follow the keypress prompts to finish off this phase.
- TROPHY: “Pyre of the Damned” is awarded for so speedily completing this mission.

Splatterhouse Walkthrough - 31 - Phase 10: The Wicker Bride - Part 2
Splatterhouse Phase 11: Blood Eclipse
- PHOTO: Turn around and head up the stairs. Take a right and smash the crates to find the photo.
- Backtrack and take a left down the second set of stairs.
- Turn left again into the small alcove, smash the crate and retrieve the cleaver.
- Now head down to the courtyard, kick open the gate for a quick cutscene.
- Back up out of reach of the worm boss and wait for the two blue ghouls to get in chopping range. Cut them apart.
- When they’re dead, take care of the worm. First, bury your cleaver in its head, then pound away until it dies. Finish it off with the usual Splatterkill.
- TIP: Save your blood if you can to go Berserk during the next part of this fight sequence.
- After you kill the first snake another one pops up at the other end of the courtyard along with two demons. Head into a corner to avoid the tongue lashing and take out the demons.
- NOTE: If the demons body bounce you near the edge you could wind up in the pit, watch out and don’t let them charge you with your back to the hole.
- After clearing out the second worm the debris will make you a path back to the staircase.
- Go up and around to the metal gate on the other side and kick it open. Head to the next area.
- Turn away from the big gold glowing door (the mausoleum) toward an opening in the wall (left from where you start facing).
- Take the stairs up and to the right.
- Follow the left wall and bust up a crate for a shotgun.
- Backtrack to the mausoleum area.
- Head to the left side of the mausoleum close to where the meteor fell and ripped off your arm.
- Bust open the crypt doors for some bloodworms.
- One of the crypts is locked, shoot it with the shotgun.
- PHOTO: Inside the crypt you just blasted open.
- Approach the mausoleum to trigger a fight sequence.
- Two blackies and a demon bust out. Take out the demon first, he can energize the others. With the shotgun this fight shouldn’t be too difficult.
- TIP: When monsters bunch up the shotgun hits everything close together, so use this to your advantage and save shells.
- Once everything is dead, five more demons will appear. If you still have some shells, get them to bunch up and blast away. If not, get them to bunch up and go Berserk. If you have no shells and no blood try to separate them from each other and focus on one at a time.
- TIP: Don’t stand still for too long. If they group around you you’ll get whipped all over the place. Remember if they grab you to mash on the keypress prompt and try to escape.
- For the last wave you’ll be fighting two bull-frog-dog things. Try to keep them both on the screen so you can effectively dodge their charges. If you have blood left, going Berserk here really speeds things up.
- Finishing off the two frog-dogs opens the mausoleum (finally! Take a breath).
- Smash the vases just inside for a batch of bloodworms.
- Raise the next door and continue into the room.
- In front of you is a locked door, take the right path.
- Head down the stairs and smash the vases for some blood worms.
- Head down the second set of stairs and grab the cleaver from the dead guy.
- Continue outside and down the stairs to the courtyard.
- There are five blood ciphers down here, you’ll need to activate a pair of them.
- First, kill the tentacled Aegis.
- TIP: A charged ram with the cleaver should almost take him down in one shot.
- When it’s dead start working on the fat butchers.
- TIP: There is a pipe under a crate behind the left hand staircase.
- Kill the butchers as they arrive, there should be 2 waves of them.
- When the ciphers light up, use your Blood Siphon and match the symbol on the floor to the proper eye. The first symbol is in the middle of the floor, the second symbol is by the staircases.
- If you pick the wrong eye, you’ll be fighting some dreadlock monkey guys. Followed by demons and purple glowing moneky guys. Followed by even more demons. (Don’t pick the wrong eye).
- Grab a spare cleaver and head back to the previously locked door. Pry it open.
- Head across the bridge and pry open the next door.
- Charge through the door to avoid getting grabbed by a red burning zombie. Kill him and move on.
- Down the stairs and to the right is a crate with a fresh weapon in it, if you need it.
- Continue along the path and round the corner to the right.
- Take a left and bash the crate for a chainsaw.
- Turn around and take the right branch of the path.
- Cut the burning zombies apart. Two more will pop out of meteors, deal with them similarly.
- Continue along the path as it curves to the left. Push open the next doors and enter the courtyard.
- A purple tentacle portal will spit out some zombies and a demon, buzz through them with the chainsaw.
- Push open the next set of doors and here comes the meteor shower.
- You will lose control of Rick here and he will begin running toward the camera, cut to the right immediately or he’ll run right into a hole.
- Cut left around the next hole and then right. Stay to the right until you see a gate.
- Go through the gate and quickly get ready for some keypress prompts.
- Move on down the path after that while Rick brags about his achievement.
- Approach the door and head through.
- In the next room watch the cutscene and get ready to fight random normal ghouls, two blue ghouls and a demon. Without blood to get started this one is going to be tough.
- Take care of the blue ghouls quickly. Using bull-rush and heavy attacks works well with these guys, but don’t let that demon sneak up behind you and start whipping you. If you lose a limb get out of there and run away for a minute to let it regrow.
- After you kill the blue ones, mop up the little ones and kill the demon.
- TIP: Splatterkill the demon and grab it’s head to make the next part easier on yourself.
- After the demon dies, more regular ghouls and another handful of blue ones will appear, take out the blue ones quickly once more then mop up the rest.
- Two blackie monsters appear after you’ve finished the last round, you can use your blood here if you need to since you’ll be able to make it up next round.
- When they’re dead a frog-dog will show up. You’ve dealt with these guys before, the only difficulty here is the close quarters. Take it out.
- When you’re done with the frog-dog the platform breaks up and you’re falling, avoid the debris in the tunnel (you’ll die if you hit too much stuff).
- The walls are closing in on you, so quickly kill the eye and move on.
- Move through the passageway for a cutscene.
- Now, quickly run down the bridge, it will start collapsing behind you. There are four demons with an Aegis behind them making the demons invincible. You have to take the Aegis out first, so charge through, go berserk. Do whatever you have to do, but do it quickly.
- TIP: Check out the Splatter Ram skill if you haven’t already bought it. You can charge through and take the Aegis out in one shot with it.
- If you can, go Berserk on the demons. If not you know the drill, divide and conquer.
- When you’re done, jump in the portal.
- You’ll land in a side scrolling area, break the nearby crate and grab the pipe.
- Head left until you get to a hole.
- Picture: Go around the hole to retrieve the picture.
- Head right and beat through the fish gill demons toward the bridge.
- Go across the bridge and kick in the door.
- Continue along the path, smash the statues for some bloodworms if you need them.
- Keep following the very long windy path under an archway to a pair of staircases.
- Climb the stairs to the door and kick it in.
- You’ll be fighting two Berserker Ricks here, your best bet is to go Berserk yourself and tear into them. If you can’t, you’re in trouble. Try to stay alive while doing some damage and charge up for your own berserk mode. The pipe will save you if you’re here without blood, it can do some decent damage and will quickly charge your blood meter.
- When you’ve killed them both the three doors will open.
- Facing the door, kick open the grate on the right side.
- PHOTO: Follow the path up some stairs to the end. Break the vases for your photo and some bloodworms.
- Head through the big doors and up the steps for a cutscene and the end of this Phase.

Splatterhouse Phase 12: The Devil Made Flesh
- Your goal here is to keep Jen alive. Which isn’t easy. Start by running to the altar and killing everything near it.
- Jenn dies ridiculously fast, so try not to let anything sneak by you. Execute everything as fast as possible and hang out close to the altar in case things slip past.
- TIP: Splatterkills are helpful in keeping your blood up for mask moves.
- The first few waves are fat zombies and improved spikey guys. They all beeline for Jenn, so get in their way.
- When the big guy gets to the altar you’ve done your job protecting her and its time for some keypress events.
- First you’ll be activating berserker to stop the stomping foot (familiar?)
- Follow the rest of the prompts to defeat the giant. Mash the button fast or you’ll fail.
- TROPHY: You’ll earn the “Bride of the Corrupted” Trophy for finishing the game, congratulations!
