  An article in the British magazine Top of the Pops dubbed each of the Spice Girls with a nickname reflecting their corresponding image. Victoria Beckham became known as "Posh Spice", Emma Bunton "Baby Spice", Melanie Brown Scary Spice", Geri Halliwell "Ginger Spice" and Melanie Chisholm "Sporty Spice". The group was managed by Simon Fuller, creator of the Idol series.
