Spermicide is used as a type of birth control that kills sperm. Spermicide is often used in conjunction with a barrier method such as a condom or diaphragm.

Spermicide can come in a range of topical forms, including cream, foam, gel, and suppository. Some types of condoms contain spermicide for extra protection against preventing pregnancy.
