Speedweeks are a series of racing events that take place over a 4-week period at the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. The first race is the 24 Hours Of Daytona; other races include the Daytona ARCA 200, the Daytona Twin 150s, also known as the "Gatorade Duel", the Daytona Budweiser Shootout, a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race known as the "Chevy Silverado HD 250, and a NASCAR Nationwide Series race known as the "Camping World 300". It all leads up to the main event, the Daytona 500, held in 2009 on February 15, 2009, at 3:00 p.m. local time.
Turnout for the 2009 races has been depressed by the poor economy. Hotels in the Daytona area still have rooms, and there are tickets left for the Daytona 500, even two days before the race.ESPN: Fans settle for Speedweeks on a dime (February 13, 2009)
