• Special K is a toasted rice cereal made by Kellogg's. The name comes from the use of the Kellogg "K". Special K is marketed as a healthy cereal option and promotes itself as a good part of a weight loss regiment. Originally marketed as a cereal, Special K has become an umbrella brand under which the Kellogg Company markets a wide variety of products including protein water and a variety of nutritional bars.

  On February 2, 2009, the honey almond variety of Special K Protein Meal Bars were recalled due to the ongoing salmonella outbreak.
