On October 27, 2008, Starz announced plans for the production of Spartacus: Blood and Sand, an all new action television series based on the world of gladiators in the Roman Empire. The 13-episode hour-long series, debuting in winter of 2010, will use virtual environments to produce a graphic novel look and style.Market Watch: Starz Declares - "We Are 'Spartacus!'" Plot
