Based on the Howard Fast novel of the same name, the 1960 epic film Spartacus centers around a slave who rebels against the Romans during the Third Servile War.
Classic Movie Moment

Oft referenced and parodied, the film's most famous scene has Spartacus mixed in with the rest of the recaptured slaves; when the group is offered leniency in exchange for outing the identity of Spartacus, each slave instead proclaims "I am Spartacus" one by one.
