Sparklehorse is an American rock group masterminded by singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Mark Linkous (formerly of The Dancing Hoods). He signed to Capitol Records and released his debut as Sparklehorse in 1995. The second Sparklehorse album was recorded after Linkous overdosed on a combination of drugs and nearly died (the recovery kept him in a wheelchair for half a year).
Sparklehorse music has appeared in films such as Laurel Canyon and Lords of Dogtown (which includes a collaboration with Radiohead singer Thom Yorke covering "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd).
