Career
Jason Pierce and Peter Kember put together Spacemen 3 in 1982 after meeting in art college. They recruited various members over the years and after playing nightclubs and other local events they released their debut album Sound of Confusion in 1986 followed by The Perfect Prescripton which became a hit with their fan base.Playing with Fire was released in 1989 which featured the song "Revolution" that rose to the number one spot on the United Kingdom independent chart.
Soon after problems brewed between Pierce and Kember along with drug problems and the band started falling apart. Their last album Recurring was released in 1991 in which Peirce and Kember recorded their own sides of the album in separate studios. Recurring became their most popular release but by then they had already went on to form the new bands Spectrum and Spiritualized.
