Space Heaters are an alternative to central heating in a home, and an alternative to a Fireplace or Fire Pit for the outdoors. In general, a Space Heater is designed to warm a small area within it's proximity. As in all things, whenever heat is involved it is recommended to use caution and to use devices in the manner that it is intended. Some advantages of an electric heater is the portability and small size for storage. The disadvantage of an electric heater is the demands and cost it places on a home since significant energy is required to produce a notable amount of heat.-
