The South Park episode entitled "Elementary School Musical" will air on November 12, 2008. When the South Park version of High School Musical hits down, the kids realize that they better learn how to sing and dance or they will be ostracized from their class. Wendy toys with the idea of leaving Stan for the new, hip kid in class. Cartman protests the new school theme. Butters gets a taste of real popularity.
The episode airs one week after the program's episode "About Last Night" which paid homage to the Ocean's 11 film canon starring fictionalize versions of Barack Obama and John McCain.

High School Musical
The episode airs just a few weeks after the blockbuster High School Musical 3. The third installment in the High School Musical franchise, finds the students preparing for a big dance, a bigger basketball game and graduation. The film was released on October 21, 2008. It stars Zac Efron, Vanessa Anne Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale and Corbin Bleu. The film grossed over $41 million dollars on its opening weekend.
