This page will contain the winners from the music, film and interactive festival known as South by Southwest. The festival week takes place from March 13 through March 22, 2009 in Austin, Texas.
Film Competition

The film competition winners are announced on March 17, 2009. Films can compete in a number of categories. These categories include animated shorts, narrative, documentary features and music videos. The big winners from the 2008 season were Explicit Ills, (Best Cinematography), Up with Me (Best Ensemble Cast), Wellness (Grand Jury Award) and 24 Beats Per Second (Audience Award).
The Web Awards

The South by Southwest Web Awards are always the highlight of the interactive festival. Given out on March 15, 2009, the awards celebrate blogs, events and companies. Categories include Activism, AMusement, Business, CSS, Music, Games, Technical Achievement and Best of Show. The 2008 winers include Elf Yourself Tiddla!, Kongregate and Launchball.
