Soupy Sales was a comedian known for slapstick routines (including his signature pie-throwing) who attained cult-like popularity in the 1960s. He was the host of "The Soupy Sales Show" for thirteen years. Sales died on October 22, 2009 at the age of 83. Sales' show was aimed at children and showcased, with Sales' slapstick style, comedy, pie throwing and puppetry, notably featuring "White Fang" ("The Biggest and Meanest Dog in the USA") and Black Tooth ("The Biggest and Sweetest Dog in the USA"). In the 1970s, Sales was mostly known from his many game show appearances.
