In the 2008 fighting game Soul Calibur IV, there are three types of unlockables: weapons, equipment and characters. Weapons are unlocked through the story mode, and then purchased through the Create a Soul mode. Equipment is unlocked by completing achievements, and also by playing through the Tower of Lost Souls mode. The bonus characters are unlocked by playing through the story mode. The only exception is The Apprentice, who can be unlocked by beating the game in arcade mode with either Yoda or Darth VaderVideoGamesBlogger: How to unlock...characters and itemsGameFAQs: Unlockable weapons and clothing question
