Taki is one of many playable characters in Soul Calibur IV, a fighting game published by Namco Bandai for the Xbox 360 and PS3 platforms. She has been a regular part of the series since its inception.
After realizing that her ninjato was weakening due to the presence of Soul Edge, Taki set out to destroy the evil sword. She eventually gained a piece of it during a confrontation with Ivy's father, Cervantes, and imbued it into her Mekkimaru. Later, she discovered that her master, Toki, was also interested in finding the sword, but for his own personal gain. Determined to keep both Soul Edge and Mekkimaru out of his grasp, she went rogue.
