Astaroth is one of several playable characters in Soul Calibur IV, a fighting game developed by Project Soul for the Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles. He has appeared in every Soul Calibur title since the original.
Although he was originally created by Kunpaetku to recover the Soul Edge for Ares, Astaroth eventually broke away from his master in order to pursue his own ambitions. Having become aware of his true origins during a confrontation with Kunpaetku towards the end of Soul Calibur III, he immediately set out from the Fygul Cestemus temple to nourish the Soul Edge in his possession with the spirit of the White Giant.Wikipedia: Astaroth (Soul Calibur)
