Sorry! started in England before being purchased by Parker Brothers in 1934. To play the game, all four pawns must be moved around the board to the home space without being bumped back to start by other players' pawn.
-
How to Play
Set up the board by placing a set of four pawns of a color in the start space of the matching color for each player.Shuffle the deck of card and place face down. Take turns drawing cards until someone gets a one or a two card, these is the only cards that can be used to move a pawn from the start space. If a two is drawn, follow the directions on the card and draw again.
The four and ten number cards move pawns backwards and if a piece moves more than two spaces backwards beyond the start point it is possible to move back into the safety zone and the home space without having to go around the board.
If a pawn ends on the same spot as another pawn, the pawn that was not moving must be moved back to the start space. If a pawn ends on the triangle space at the beginning of a slide, not of its color, the pawn must slide down the slide until it stops at the circle spot and must bump off all pawns in the way including pawns of its own color. Slides of the same color should not be used.
More than one pawn can be out at one time. Two pawns of the same color may never occupy the same space. If this is the only way then the player must forfeit his or her turn rather than make the move.
The first player to move all of his or her pawns to the home space is the winner.
