Announced at the 2008 Mobile World Congress by Sony Ericsson, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 is the first mobile phone to be released under the Sony Ericsson XPERIA family featuring Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional as the operating system. This is a very high end device that comprises a 3.0 inch, 16-bit color WVGA (800x480) TFT touchscreen, side-sliding design with full QWERTY, integrated GPS, WiFi and quad-band GSM with quad-band UMTS.
