  • Walkman

The Walkman brand was developed by Sony as one of the first and most popular portable music devices. The original Walkman device was created by Nobutoshi Kihara. The first model was the Walkman Cassette, which was followed by the CD Walkman, the MiniDisc Walkman, the Network Walkman and then the Walkman MP3 Player. The Sony Ericson Walkman phone was the next logical progression in the Walkman line. The phone was released in September of 2005 and was able to take advantage of the Walkman name brand recognition. It has since become one of the most popular phones on the market. Sony claimed in June of 2007 to have sold as many as 26.5 million phones, since the company first launched the line in 2005.
