The Sony Ericsson Championship 2009 is the official year-end chmpionships of the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour. It takes place from October 27 to November 1, 2009 in Doha, with a prizemoney of $4,550,000, and faces off the top eight players of the 2009 WTA tour all year.
- The eight players are divided in two groups, 'White' and 'Maroon', who will play a half competition against each other (three matches per player). For each group, the best two progress to the semi-finals.
