The Sons of Silence are a motorcycle group who were founded in 1966. The Latin phrase shown in their logo -- Donec Mors Non Separat -- means Until death separates us. On August 25, 2008, three adult men and one juvenile were arrested during the first night of the 2008 Democratic Convention in Denver, Colorado. The men, Nathan Johnson, Shawn Adolf and Tharin Gartrell are suspected of possibly plotting an assassination of Senator Barack Obama. History Channel Gangland
The History Channel featured a show in 2010 regarding the Sons of Silence. The show featured footage from Colorado Springs which was featured by Money magazine as America's Best Place to live. The show highlights the presence of the Sons of Silence in the town and their pride in their outlaw image. The Sons are one of the fastest growing motorcycle gangs in the US. Members of the group were interviewed as a part of the series. Some chose to remain anonymous but share their experiences as a member. One member states if all chapters joined together it would take the Army to take them down.
