Categories: Travel
  • Sonoma County is a county in the northwest region of California that is known for its picturesque landscapes, pleasant climate, and abundance of wineries. Established in 1850 and located about 60 miles north of the city of San Francisco, Sonoma County has a population of over 400 thousand residents and covers an area of roughly 290 square miles. As part of the "Wine Country" region of Northern California, Sonoma county boasts some of the most fertile land in the country - making it a perfect place for growing grapes and making wine. While it may not be as famous as neighboring Napa County, it still attracts over seven million visitors a year. The seat of Sonoma County is the city of Santa Rosa.
