About Sonic Unleashed
During the day, Sonic Unleashed is a side-scrolling platformer loyal to its Sega Genesis roots. Sonic zips through a 2D environment set against a 3D backdrop, collecting coins at lightning speed.At night, Sonic transforms into a Werehog, thanks to the influence of some corrupted Chaos Emeralds. The speed of the game slows down dramatically and the Sega mascot becomes a standard action-game brawler. He makes his way through an entirely 3D platforming environment, collecting coins to replenish his health and taking out enemies with his newly rubber-like arms.
In addition to these two gameplay modes, there is also a town exploration element in Sonic Unleashed. Sonic can socialize with the inhabitants of each continent, completing quests for them and possibly becoming friends.1up.com: Sonic Unleashed Review (November 20, 2008)
