  • Plot Synopsis

    The story line in Bradbury's Something Wicked This Way Comes follows the adventures of two boys during the stay of a magical carnival in their small mid-western town. The carnival is run by a Mr. Dark, who commands supernatural powers and is the very essence of evil. His carnival is complete with many wonders, all of which can bestow some sort of magic, but not without the recipient paying a price. Mr. Dark wants the two friends to join him so he can possess their souls for the carnival. Their battle against the forces of the carnival is joined by one of the boys' father, who also experiences the evil magic from Mr. Dark. After many confrontations, the truth is discovered that love is the ultimate weapon against evil. The carnival is destroyed and so is Mr. Dark's hold on their small rural town.
