Somer Thompson was a seven-year-old girl from Orange Park, Florida, who went missing on October 19, 2009, after she didn't come home from school. An AMBER Alert was issued in response to her disappearance.http://www.firstcoastnews.com/news/local/news-article.aspx?storyid=146923&catid=3
The body of a young girl was found in a Georgia landfill on October 21, 2009. The body was positively identified as that of Thompson the following morning. According to the sheriff, a birthmark and the clothing on the body matched Thompson.
