• Solaris is a 2002 film based on the novel by Stanislaw Lem. The film is also a remake of the 1976 Russian movie Solyaris directed by Andrei Tarkovsky. Starring George Clooney and Natascha McElhone the film takes place mostly on a space station orbiting an ocean world. After receiving a troubling message from a colleague, Chris Kelvin (George Clooney) visits the space station to recover the crew. After arrival he learns that Solaris has been creating physical reproductions of people the crew is familiar with including some who have previously died back on Earth.
