Currently, there are a half million social workers within the US. On any given day, at almost any given time, there are social workers engaged in efforts to help and/or advocate for their clients who may be experiencing problems that touch most of our lives. Clients served may suffer from chronic illness, substance abuse, death, unemployment, mental illness, or violence as well as a host of other issues.
