- It is considered the most popular sport in the world, despite it's lack of popularity in the United States
- The professional league in the USA is known as Major League Soccer, although the most popular in the world is the Premier League
- It is also a sport played in the Olympics

Soccer, which is commonly known throughout the world as "football," is a sport featuring two teams consisting of 11 players on a side. There are goals at either side of a field, and the object to move a ball down field and shoot it into the goal. Players can use any part of the body to control or manipulate play with the exception of their hands. The team with the most goals after 90 minutes wins.
