This page contains links and video to all SoBe Life Water Super Bowl Ads. The first SoBe Life Water Super Bowl commercial aired in 2008 during Super Bowl XLII. The commercials all feature dancing lizards alongside a celebrity or a group of celebrities, such as football players for its 2009 Super Bowl advertisement.
2009 Commercial
Paying $6 million for a one minute slot entitled "Lizard Lake", SoBe once again spotlighted its naked dancing lizard squad but this time in 3D for Super Bowl XLIII. It featured a group of football players in white leotards dancing, including Ray Lewis, Justin Tuck and Matt Light, to the popular ballet number "Swan Lake". Then as the lizards swallowed drops of the energetic Life Water, the dance number turned into a rock themed dance-off between the players and lizards.
The Glasses
Pepsi and American Paper Optics provided over 125 million pairs of 3D glasses needed in order to watch the commercial. The glasses were completely free and could be picked up at any local large retailer. Intel and Sobe Lifewater supplied additional funds for the mass distribution of the glasses.
2008 Commercial
Often referred to as "Thrillerlicious", SoBe premiered its first Super Bowl commercial at the end of the second quarter of Super Bowl XLII. It featured the SoBe lizards, which came from its company's logo and general ad campaign though they were now animated to the degree of coordinated dancing. Naomi Campbell and the lizards performed the infamous dance moves to Michael Jackson's Thriller. The ad was estimated to have cost over $5 million to create and produce.
