The winner of So You Think You Can Dance Season 6 was Russell Ferguson. It was announced during the finale on December 16, 2009. The night included live performances of the choreographer's and judge's favorite routines as well as special performances from guest singers and dance groups. During the middle of the show something unexpected happened when Russel was injured. He made it through the end of the show despite the injury and was crowned America's Favorite Dancer.
