So You Think You Can Dance

  • So You Think You Can Dance is an American reality dance television show that airs on FOX. Contestants audition in the dance style of their choice, then Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy and a guest judge critique their performance. If they make it to the Las Vegas round of auditions, the contestants will endure hours of choreography lessons to determine the top 20 candidates. The 5th season of So You Think You Can Dance premiered on May 21, 2009.

  • How It Works

    In Las Vegas, the competitors must show their versatility in learning dances outside their comfort zones. The 20 remaining finalists appear on stage for a chance to become "America's Favorite Dancer."

    One female and one male dancer are eliminated each week based on the votes from the viewers, which are cast via toll free call or text message. The winner receives varying amounts of cash and prizes.
