  • Sneakers is a term for athletic footwear for men, women, and kids. While the sneaker is considered casual footwear compared to the dress shoe, the trend of high end sneakers in certain fashion niches have been seen at red carpet events for their hip new place in our culture. Some popular brands are Nike, Adidas, Vans, and Puma, and Converse.
  • Special Cuts

Sneakers come in a variety of styles and colors but when looking for a sneaker you may also want to think about cut. There are four common cut types for sneakers. They are high tops, which go above the ankle, providing support and extra lacing. Second are low tops which fall right under the ankle. These commonly have less lacing and less support for sport activities. Thirdly are mid cut sneakers that find themselves between the two with just the right amount of support. These are also considered a type of cross training sneaker. And lastly, there are mid calf sneakers, mostly seen on boxers, but have found their way into the fashion world for their boot-like lace-up flare.
  • Sneakers Go High End

Once considered trainers for various sports, sneakers have slowly evolved into a fashion staple from Nike taking the original white shoe to new hip hop levels to high end designers like Diesel, Michael Kors, and Coach releasing special rubber soled treads that should be worn at a brunch rather than a game of ball.
