The Story
Jason Statham plays Turkish, a boxing promoter whose star boxer is injured, leaving Turkish with money owed to the local crime boss. At the same time, several other gangsters are chasing a diamond stolen by Frankie Four Fingers. The diamond acts a the film's MacGuffin, a plot variable that advances the plot. The two stories intertwine in several ways by the film's end, notably when Turkish accidentally finds the diamond. -
Reviews
The film earned a 71% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but is often crticized for its stylistic resemblance to Ritchie's previous film, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Brad Pitt received substantial critical praise based on his slightly offbeat "Pikey" character. Snatch is ranked as #166 on the IMDb Top 250. -
