  • Snakes on a Plane is an action-horror film that has gained cult-like status since its 2006 release. An FBI agent played by Samuel L. Jackson and an airline attendant played by Julianna Margulies must battle several deadly varieties of poisonous snakes, brought onto a plane by a ruthless mob boss in order to kill a murder witness.
  • Camp on a Plane

Though many action and horror movies are unbelievably campy despite attempts to be taken seriously, Snakes on a Plane may be the first major motion picture that aims to be as campy as possible. Lurid and over-the-top moments dominate the film, from the generic-yet-evil Hawaiian mobsters to the tongue-in-cheek ending. Leading up to the release of the film, a lot of press mentioned this fact and started something of an anticipation frenzy among the movie-going masses. In the end, many felt disappointed by what they saw as a failed attempt at camp, resulting in a movie that is terrible in the conventional, non-ironic way.
