S'mores are a favorite campfire treat made with three simple ingredients: marshmallows, chocolate and graham crackers. Although traditionally made on the campfire, if you want s'mores at home there are recipes that allow you to do them with a stove, microwave or grill.
The first mention of s'mores was in 1927 in the Girl Scout Handbook although the true origin is unknown.
Broiler S'mores
- 4 graham crackers
- 2 milk chocolate candy bars
- 12 marshmallows
Preheat the oven broiler. Cover a small pan with aluminum foil and coat with cooking spray. Break graham crackers and chocolate in half laying to the side. Put marshmallows in a single layer in the prepared pan and broil until the tops turn brown. Turn the marshmallows over to brown the other side. They brown very quickly so be sure to watch them closely. Combine graham crackers marshmallows and chocolate and you have your tasty treat.
