  • The world's best selling distilled spirit, Smirnoff Vodka was first produced in 19th century Moscow and expanded worldwide in the early 20th century.

  • Smirnoff History

    Piotr Smirnov's son, Vladimir, shut down the vodka factory during the October Revolution in 1917 and fled to Turkey, where he reestablished the distillery in 1920.

    Smirnoff spread across Europe in the 1930s but did not vastly increase in popularity in the United States until the 1990s, when it became a fixture of the American nightlife.
