Safety Cell
The Smart car comes equipped with a very strong steel cage around the driver and passenger seats. This cage or safety cell holds up well to strong impacts but the material does not absorb some of the collision force by crumpling. Because of its rigid structure the passengers will feel the impact more than conventional cars.
