The CW's fantasy drama Smallville follows the young Clark Kent (Tom Welling) as he grows up in Smallville, Kansas. It shows the evolution and dissolution of his friendship with Lex Luthor (Michael Rosenbaum), and his journey toward his future life as Superman.

The 9th season of Smallville premieres on Friday, September 25, 2009, on The CW.
