  • After leaving his job writing for the AOL-owned movie blog, Cinematical, Peter Sciretta created /Film. The site eventually grew to a staff of 20, but Peter decided he wanted a personal approach and downsized to 4-5 full time writers.

  • The SlashFilm FilmCast

    On May 26th 2008, Peter hired the cast of the increasingly popular podcast, The Watchers and launched the site’s regular live podcast, the /Filmcast.

    Hosts David Chen, Devindra Hardawar, and Adam Quigley debate, argue, discuss the latest films, film related news, television shows, and general entertainment items from that week.

    The staf of the SlashFilm website have attended the Sundance Film Festiva, New York City’s Tribeca Film Festival, WonderCon in San Francisco, San Diego Comic Con, and the Toronto Film Festival.

    In 2008, they traveled to the South By Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas for the first time.
