Sky watching is the observation of objects and events in outer space from Earth. It's astronomy for amateurs to experts. Sky watching includes gazing at the moon, the stars and meteors (shooting stars) in its most basic form. Sky watching becomes more interesting with the use of binoculars or telescopes because they magnify objects that cannot be seen with the naked eye.

Background
Sky watching has been around for as long as humans have been able to look up at the sky and express a curiosity for what happens up there. Now, on a clear dark night, sky watchers can see stars, shooting stars, constellations, the moon, eclipses, satellites, planets, galaxies, nebulas, The Milky Way, deep sky objects and hundreds of other space objects. The most recent and popular sky watching opportunity came October 21, 2009, in the early morning hours with the peak of the Perseid meteor shower. -
