SKS Rifle
SKS rifles are inexpensive assault rifles that originated in the Soviet Union. The SKS rifle was designed and developed in 1945 by Sergei Gavrilovich Simonov, who was a Russian weapons designer. The SKS carbine is a Russian 7.62 x 39 mm caliber, self-loading and semi-automatic rifle. It has a wooden stock and no pistol grip. The rifle has a muzzle velocity of 2400 feet per second, is 40 inches long and the magazine holds 10 rounds of ammunition. Most will have a folding bayonet fitting. Designer of the SKS
Sergei Gavrilovich Simonov, Russian weapons designer, was born in Fedotov, Russia in 1894. His first began his working career as a blacksmith in a foundry and later became a machinist. In 1917 he studied engineering and later worked at a plant that made the Fedrov Automat Rifle. Through the years he became an innovator of weapons design and one of the creators of the modern assault rifle by developing first the AVS automatic rifle in 1936 and the SKS carbine rifle in 1945. http://www.sff.net/people/sanders/sks.html

Albanian SKS
