Early Life
Jared Michael Schumaker was born in Torrance, California, on February 3, 1980. He attended college at the University of California, Santa Barbara. In 2001, he was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 5th round of the Major League Baseball amateur draft.
Pro Career
On June 8, 2005, Schumaker made his MLB debut with the St. Louis Cardinals. In his first season, he appeared in 27 games and compiled a .250 batting average. In 2007, he appeared in 88 games and compiled a .333 batting average with 2 homeruns and 19 runs batted in.
